Need a new washer dryer suggestions???

I've heard that front loaders are having mold issues. Not sure how true it is.

We bought a new washer and dryer a few years ago, and we were on a tight budget. We got a Roper and a Performa. Can't remember which is the washer, and which is the dryer. I think each one was around $300. We love them.
Mine are ancient Sears and still working. Don't know if I'd trust a frontloader just for leakage issues on the washer. Yes, men wash clothes too.

The society of time travellers suggest you go to Best Buy last Friday and get the Samsung pair for $1000 off.

Hubby has been wanting a new set for a while. There is nothing wrong with ours, they are 10 plus years old and still working strong. I'm not sold on front loaders either, and have heard the same as you.

I have nothing useful to contribute, other than the fact that I am really tired, ready for a nap, and still have a meeting to go to.

Did you buy a statue?
No, I didn't buy one yet. I'm decided I'll be making my own. I'm using my own likeness for it. I figure if it doesn't work for its' intended purpose, I could always use it to scare raccoons off of the back deck.

It's the holidays. Can you use the baby Jesus from your Natvity scene? That might work. :huggy:

No! :lalala: BG, you must use St. Joseph. I'll give you some chicken to scare away the raccoons.

Ours are about 9 years old and still working fine. They are made by Roper, which I think is/was made by Whirlpool. I've been thinking about the front loaders, but after hearing the mold issue, not so sure. They also all seem to be pretty pricey. I definitely like the washers without the agitator in them though!! When I replace mine, I'll probably go that way. Good luck to the OP on getting a good deal!!

I have a Whirlpool heavy duty (top load) washer & (front load) dryer and they still going strong after 25 years.
I've researched those front load washers and will surely hesitate to buy one (when the time comes) because of the way the door is. I don't care how good the seal is, eventually the water will leak out. The basic layout of a front load washer just isn't a good idea IMHO. It's ok for a dryer though. Also, don't you have to use a special "HE" type of soap. I think "HE" means horrendously expensive???

I bought the Whirlpool Duet set a few years ago and love them. They were rated #1 by Consumer Reports when I bought them. No problems at all.
I bought a set of these in the spring. Love 'em!
I love my new front loaders! Everything comes out so clean and the dryer works so quickly. I wish I could remember who made them. :cds:
I agree. I love the fact that jeans dry in half the time my old dryer took.

That does tend to be a problem
I heard you have to keep the door ajar so it will dry out or it gets mildewy.
I do this
and run a load of hot water and bleach once in a while. :yay:
They also sell the tablets that you put in once a month to freshen it and kill the mildew

Is she trying to sell her house?

That won't work. I've tried.

That's a no on the baby Jesus.

And I think it has to be buried upside down facing the north (I think) for the wives tale to work. I must have done it wrong when I tried to sell my house though :bawl:

and for the record, I quoted ya'll, so your posts are staying! :buddies:

I think you bury him upside down, facing the house. And I also think you might be the one I "heard" the mildew thing from.
