Well, Tucker is officially an outdoor cat...at least during the daytime. I called the vet to ask his advice, and he said either make him a barn cat or put him to sleep. I thought about it, and found him a barn home....but couldn't give him to the farm owners. I decided that if he could live outside in a barn, he could definitely live outside in our neighborhood. I didn't want to worry about him or wonder how he was doing in a new home. :bawl:

So, he goes out during the days and comes in at night. Maybe in a few weeks he'll be totally outside, but we're going to see how he does inside at night. If he continues to pee inside, he'll have to be 100% outdoors.

So your neighbors yards are now your cats litter box??

If i was your neighbor you wouldn't have to worry about putting it to sleep.

 Just about every other house has a cat outside. Our neighborhood is cat-central.

Cats cover their stuff up or bury it. My cats are indoor only and I don't have dogs. There are some cats who have free range of the neighborhood and I have never stepped in cat poop in my yard. I have definitely stepped in my neighbors' dog's poop! When my parents come by with their Jack Russell, they pick up after her. Wish my neighbors would be as considerate...

I've never seen a cathole in a person's yard, I have however, seen cat#### buried in a kids sandbox..

So what you are saying is a cat will only go where they CAN bury it, and that would usually be some kids playground.

Gotta agree with you on the sandbox issue. We used to have a cat in the neighborhood that would do his thing in the horseshoe pits. Had to rake them before throwing shoes! As for the sandbox, we always kept the kid's box covered when they were little (many years ago).

I didn't read the whole thread but my cat was using the bathroom all over my house and took her to the vet and she had crystals in her bladder and they put her on a expensive cat food and she doesn't do it anymore. I use Urinary tract food from Walmart now and have had no reaccurances.

I have taken him to the vet, switched food, switched litter, done just about everything I could have done. It's just a behavioral problem. But thanks! :yay:

:yay: I think that was a good idea, both of our cats are outdoor ones they have never ran off and are about 6 years old. We put them in a shed at night where we keep their water and food so nothing attacks them and they can sleep peacefully. Just make sure on hot days she always has lots of water

Nothing more fun than having a toddler in the sand box in YOUR yard, pulling out a cat turd from HIS playground and trying to put it in his mouth. And you don't own any cats..

Maybe you should cover his sandbox. Lots of things besides cats can shiat in there. Damn those wild birds, oppossums, raccoons, foxes..etc. I wish someone would keep them contained so I don't have to walk in their poop. Oh yeah, and some spiders also LOVE sandboxes.

Maybe people should control their pets so cats would stay out of MY yard..

Do leash laws and animal control laws only apply to dogs??

And i can't recall the last time I've seen oppossum, raccoon or fox tracks across the hood of my car..

Well, I'm not your neighbor (thank goodness), so don't get huffy with me.

So it's ok if your cat craps in the nieghbors sandbox and their toddler eats it, because it's POSSIBLE that a fox might do it too?

As far as I know, there are no sandboxes near us. Responsible parents cover sandboxes....and watch their children.

Bob, has Bubba ever put a turd in his mouth, or are you just arguing about something that *might* possibly happen one day?

If I find cat turds in my kid's sandbox, someone in my neighborhood will have a dead cat. It's that simple.

I don't have a gun, a slingshot, a bow and arrow, or anything else that could easily kill a cat. But I do have a baseball bat, and I'll use it. The cat might not like it, but I'll not really care.

...me and Mike Vick might pay good money to watch you chase a cat with a baseball bat.

:lmao:

...that the cats up here took a road trip this weekend and said something along the lines of "Yeah man, I really, really enjoyed leaving that Baby Ruth in Bad Girls sand box! High five!"

Or words to that affect. They were hitting the kat nip pretty hard for labor day which is, in and of itself, pretty fun as they, among all of Gods creatures, are the ones least familiar with the message behind Labor Day.

I have a a fairly nice DeMarini if you'd like to not tote yours all that way.
