another update: Bos was snipped, he has been on the "female" hormone and still has 2 days left. Today we ended up taking him to the vet for a complete thyroid panel as Ken King had provided info on in his thread. This last weekend he had started panting excessively (which may be a side effect of hormone) and the unexpected aggressive actions came back also. He was fine one minute and then for no reason he would turn on hubby for no more than him asking him if he wanted out. The vet today actually agreed with the full panel along with a full cbc to rule out other things. He stated the results would be back in a few days and if they are negative not to give up on him. As he has worked specifically with a few OES that became aggressive with their family. He explained some of the problem with some overly aggressive OES is that they are used to being in charge out in the field and some lines have not lost that instinct.
He also said if the tests are negative he will work with us and refer us to a behaviorist vet and we will all work through this together. He did agree with me that right now he is seeing hubby as a challenge to the hiearchy and the aggressive actions are being sent to him as a warning. That's why most of the mouth rammings have been on his back or shoulder. Will keep this updated as the saga continues...
