Need cage(s) for relocation of 3 feral cats

A couple who live locally have been caring for 3 feral cats for years. 2 have been fixed and had shots, the other one (older male) needs shots/neutering. Their house sold in 2 weeks so they are now faced with relocating their feral cats to their new home in Ohio on short notice.

I asked them to feed the cats in cages/crates so they get used to eating in them to make capture easier. She only has 1 small cage. I have a few small cat carriers that I can provide to her to get all 3 cats used to getting in them to eat. Once the cats have been trapped, we will take them to the Humane Society for shots and to get the older male neutered.

We are trying to help the couple get several cages to transport the cats to Ohio. The cages need to be big enough for a small litter box (size of a plastic dish pan). The cats will also need to be housed in a decent sized cage for several weeks before they can be released. We are hoping we can find donations of cages to use for the transport (2 or 3 crates/cages) and for the several week confinement once they get there (1 multi-level cage may work for all 3). We can ask the couple to donate the cage(s) to the local animal shelter there in Ohio when they are finished with them (or a rescue), as we really don't have any way to get them back here to MD.

If anyone has any crates, cages they can donate that would be appropriate for this relocation, please let us know.

Hello Ark, I might be able to help. I do have some Cages out in my Pole Buildings, but it's dark right now, and there is no electricity out there. I would be happy to bring them too you, or what ever you want. I will check them out in the morning, and respond back to this thread at that time too. Are they taking the Cats with them? How nice if they are. I will PM you with my Cell number. I'd be coming from Lusby.

Awesome, I am sure we can use anything you can find. Thanks a bunch. The harder part will probably be finding a large cage(s) for them to use for the several week confinement. It doesn't have to be the type that can break down to a small size, as they can just add that to the larger items they are moving and can go on the moving truck. It is likely that the older male will need to be housed separately from the other 2 during the confinement stage due to his demeanor (he's kind-of grumpy I am told). Thank you so much for offering to look to see what you may have. :buddies:

Check your PM. I do have a cage that would fit 3 Cats, and a Litter Box. It would be tight, but just perfect for transport. Two of the cats could actually live in there comfortably. I didn't take the tape measure out with me, but it's big. Plastic bottom, with wire floor, and wire sides. I might have a Cat Carrier to give also. I'm ready to go, so please give me a call. It's 11:05 AM.

Sorry I am just now getting around to checking email and messages. I'll get back with you today.
