Adopt me please !
A couple who live locally have been caring for 3 feral cats for years. 2 have been fixed and had shots, the other one (older male) needs shots/neutering. Their house sold in 2 weeks so they are now faced with relocating their feral cats to their new home in Ohio on short notice.
I asked them to feed the cats in cages/crates so they get used to eating in them to make capture easier. She only has 1 small cage. I have a few small cat carriers that I can provide to her to get all 3 cats used to getting in them to eat. Once the cats have been trapped, we will take them to the Humane Society for shots and to get the older male neutered.
We are trying to help the couple get several cages to transport the cats to Ohio. The cages need to be big enough for a small litter box (size of a plastic dish pan). The cats will also need to be housed in a decent sized cage for several weeks before they can be released. We are hoping we can find donations of cages to use for the transport (2 or 3 crates/cages) and for the several week confinement once they get there (1 multi-level cage may work for all 3). We can ask the couple to donate the cage(s) to the local animal shelter there in Ohio when they are finished with them (or a rescue), as we really don't have any way to get them back here to MD.
If anyone has any crates, cages they can donate that would be appropriate for this relocation, please let us know.
