Okay, so my husband and I have a baby on the way and might have to sell the love of my life. a super clean 1980 chevy stepside. 350 auto, brand new with less then 10,000 miles on it. Clean body inside and out. A few paint chips and the oak bed needs a little work. Other then that it's as good as new. Any help would be great. I'm hoping not to sell it, but if I have to, I'd like to know where to start. Thanks!

Since 28 years old is a little different than "brand new", you might be disappointed in the value.

Maybe the engine is brand new w/10K miles. I agree it's probably not worth much (I didn't check) to sell/trade but it could be that the insurance is costing more than the vehicle is worth.

If it's stock, it can be registered as a historic vehical and that's a lot cheaper

True if it qualifies. It can also be specifically insured to it's value but it'll co$t.

To qualify as a historic vehicle, your vehicle must not have been substantially altered, remodeled, or remanufactured from its original construction, and must be 20 model years or older.

A historic vehicle 60 years or older may obtain a one-time, permanent, non-transferable registration. This vehicle registration does not qualify for specialty plates.

Vehicles classified as historic certifies the vehicle will be maintained for use in exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, occasional transportation and similar uses. The vehicle owner further certifies the vehicle will not be used for general daily transportation or primarily for the transportation of passenngers* or property on highways.

You are right there. Just had my car appraised and had to stroke a check for $326.

Probably better if she looks online for people selling their trucks, find a price she thinks will work for hers and maybe hang out at local crusie in's and car shows. She claims its a pretty nice truck. Someones always looking for a project.

Just wish I had known about the truck.

What bike and how much? What is the snowmobile...is it complete? how old? and what do you want for them?

Not that I want them (the bike maybe) but I can help find homes for them.

I wish I would have known about that truck too.
