does anybody know where I can buy some metric blinker fluid?

Autozone carries it right next to the metric adjustable wrenches and the metric inspection mirrors. DO NOT buy the Autozone brand though that says it will work on standard and metric vehicles. My Honda is a stick shift and it didn't work at all..... I hope this helps.

I may just sell the Honda and get something else...it's been smoking a lot lately. Someone told me it might be because I'm overfilling the engine or using the wrong kind of oil, but its still smoking pretty bad even when I only fill it to an inch below the "710" cap.

You said it's a 49 or 50 so it probably has less than 20k miles on it. You should be able to get at least 150 bucks for it. That's not bad especially right around Christmas time.

My Halogen fluid arrived this morning just need to get to the Autozone and buy a funnel so I can fill it. This stuff is corrosive according the label so I'll be extra careful not to spill it everywhere.

Halogen fluid is highly radioactive. I mean..duh..how else would it make the lights so bright?

alrighty....so I remember something about putting a brick in the tank to save on gasoline. well, how the heck are we supposed to put that brick down the tank to begin with??? so I crushed it up to smaller pieces and dropped in. much to my shagrin, not only am I getting worse mileage, but I have to have the car towed to Midas to clean the filter or something.

You probably used the wrong color brick.

I didn't like the smell of the oil and my car burns a lot of it so I added incense to the oil reservoir and it smells great going down the road. The only downside is that I'm getting chased by Buddhist monks everywhere I go.

I run used cooking oil I get free from McDonald's. I get chased by smoked-up utes with the munchies every time I pass through downtown LP city.

My left front door was squeaking really bad every time it was opened and closed so I removed it. The squeak is gone so I'll add trouble shooting squeaky doors to my long list of mechanic skills. I think I'm going to to take the test to become a certified automotive mechanic.

Go for it. The last time I took a test to get certified for something, I won a nice new jacket that only needed the unusually long sleeves taken in to make it fit me nice.

Those dayum muffler bearings are a SOB to repack if you do it yourself.

No, not al all. Buy tub of grease, (them small tubes for guns won't work) lay bearing on tub. Then drive over it. Make sure to do four passes, one with each wheel to make sure you get into every nook and cranny.

I'm starting to feel like a few of you are making a mockery out of this very serious thread. Lets try and stay on topic and continue posting real problems and solutions.

Muffler bearings aren't hard to re-pack at all if you own one of those seal a meals. Put the bearings in one of the plastic bags and use the seal a meal and you're all set! Oh and the guy at the Autozone will try and tell you to use regular bearing grease but what you really want to use is relative bearing grease which will ensure that all the bearings spin in the proper direction and reduce friction.

You know, I've heard tell that you don't even really need grease, that's just propaganda from the petro-industrial complex...........

Yeah I've heard that too. You know those evil Republicans control the entire petro industry so it's their fault that we have to use grease.....

What I do know is that I was just thinking that every single thread in the news and politics section devolves into a name calling mess and how nice it was to have one thread where that was not the.... never mind.

There was no name calling just a little joke since it seems like the repubs get blamed for everything. This is still the best non-political thread here trust me.

Speaking of special grease. I've always wondered how the grease knows if its in a bearing on a disk brake or on a lawnmower...
