 Go listen to your vet then. Any vet who wouldn't recommend altering a non-show pet shouldn't be a vet.

:yay:

"not acting out".... so this person won't neuter to prevent reproductive / prostate cancers, but they'll snip to avoid having to train? Nice. I feel bad for their dogs...

So OP asked a question, got several serious replies, didn't like the replies, and wigged out? Sounds like the OP needs to be neutered (or layed) :killingme

YES, I'm aware that "humping, as well as standing over, and resting genitals on another dog are not acts of sexual behavior, I'm questioning why every post seems you are DEFENSIVE?
Acts of a dog are learned before they are instictual...

:roflmao: You're an idiot. I think you should read up on altering your own reproductive organs.

The replies were excellent and correct. I do not believe for a second any vet would reccomend not altering your dog. It's called a PREVENTIVE measure not WAITING until you have a problem.

If you had an acutal response that had ANY intellectual contribution, I'd respect it.

9- 77 ..is that your date of birth..you a 32/33 year old girl?

FYI: Word around here is that SoMDGirl42 is a very nice lady and well respected too.
Be nice, play nice and others will do the same.

I would like to add that my dogs, also 2 boxers, are like my children also, there's nothing I wouldn't do for them, believe me when I had my first boy neutered at 6 months, i sat outside the clinic for half an hour wondering if I was doing the right thing. And after thinking logically, for his health, I knew I was. Behavioural issues aside, neutering has so many health benefits, reducing the chances of having an enlarged prostate, which in some cases can become so enlarged it can interfere with bm's, Testicular cancer and so on...
There are so many unwanted dogs and puppies in the world that in my opinion unless your dog has a reason to be - like he is a conformation show dog - there is no reason not to neuter him. Helping to prevent more unwanted puppies in the world. Aswell as ensuring he will benefit health wise from the surgery. I hope that you do decide to neuter your dog, for his benefit, and just know that if you take him to a veterinarian that you trust, I'm sure he will be well taken care of and they will put your worries aside and make you feel confident you are making the right decision for him. Good luck with whatever you chose, and I am very biased but Boxers really are the the cutest and most awesome dogs :)

I read the whine fest tread, then I had to come and find this one. I have not read anything defensive prior to this post.

btw, did you mean to say defensive?

There is a website dedicated to Boxer owners. It's boxerworld.com. There are owners from all over the world on the site. I would suggest you go there and check the health forums for information on neutering. Just be careful what you post. They won't stand for the BS you posted on here. Just ask your question, read the replies and form an educated opinion. If your mind is already made up then don't waste our time.

I hope you find what you are looking for and that you will keep you dog's health as your first concern.
