New Acronym

We all know the all obvious SMIB acronym for us folks that were blessed with being born and raised in this quiet little county.It would be totally unfair to let the fine people off the hook that packed up all their belongings and travelled all the way here to add to the traffic sprawl, crime and congestion.

Example:OOTCK, out of town culture killers.

I still don't understand why people complain about this place. No-one is making them stay here and lets face it. The scenery is pretty, the pay is good (if your educated) ..... oh I get it now ....

Get the local radio station to lose the '80s hair band play list, and maybe we can revisit the whole idea of culture.

it can only pick up radio stations in a 20 mile radius

Ah I see the SMIB posts now. I honestly did not even read them. Just remember there are people who recently moved here that enjoy living here.
(I did vote in the bookstore poll though but just because I would not mind a big bookstore. While yes we do not need one it would not be horrible if one was put in)

Where else do they take a ham and roll it around the yard to pick up the grass clippings?

I find many of them to be as loathesome as they find me. Although there are exceptions.

If it helps I will advise them that like blacks and the N word. We dont mind being called Smibs by each other,but we dont especially like strangers calling us that. and when it is meant in a derogatory manner you might get a can of whup-ass opened on you.

Yes we have a culture here, and its basically a good one that goes back over 400 years.

Its dying now as more and more people invade our little county. Our farms are being turned into housing communities ,and shopping malls, the water which was so bountiful with crabs and oysters is gradually becoming only good for taking a scenic boat ride on.

There are a few of us left and we get insulted by ignorant people who think because they came from somewhere else that that somehow makes them better than us.
To all who come here graciously for whatever reason I say welcome. to those who think of us as SMIBs I say Kiss my Country ass.

I can understand a lot of what you are saying but this part is your (you in this whole post meaning general you not specific) own fault so to speak. Who sold the farm to the developers to begin with? Why? You cannot blame the people who bought the houses. Not to throw in a chessy quote but "if you build it they will come". If you didnot want outsiders here you should not have sold your farm for the almighty dollar.

Oh yeah, we don't roll ours around. Our recipe calls for the grass clippings to be stuffed by hand into precisely cut holes, so we have to bag our grass and go from there.
