I keep an eye on my surroundings and look for anyone suspicious, but I'm not going to hide in my house because my office building could be a potential target.

I'm not saying that I'm not scared, because that's not true. But I'm not going to run and hide. Carpe diem, you know?

I'm not hiding in my house. I was just pointing out that whether we go about business as usual and get blown up or if we hide in our houses and don't get blown up, they've still won. At least in their minds.

So, what can we do about it?

The United States will not lock its doors and windows and throw away the key, so therefore there isn't a 100% guarantee that we will never be attacked again.

The government is working on it, but it will take time. The American people are being vigilent.

Sorry about that chief.
We're not scared, we just have armed guards riding the subway, traffic stops and searches all over Washington DC, unprecedented paranoia in airplanes and airports, metal detectors and every public building and most high profile events, missle emplacements on buildings and throughout DC. No we're not scared at all.

Terrorism...

Let me get back to you on that after I speak with the Prez.

I wasn't trying to get drawn into the discussion. I was just making a single point. If you have ideas about what we should do about terrorism, I think you should share them with the President, CIA, FBI, etc. I'm sure they'll appreciate the help.

I couldn't care less about terrorist threats and they don't even register with me. If we do get attacked, there's nothing I can do about it anyway so there's no point in worrying about it.

My big beef is that the Republican Convention coincides with Freshman Week at NYU and I'm not looking forward to all the security while we're trying to get into the city. :grrrr:

wrong. The information is new to us.
From what I've been hearing, the information found on the captured laptop was originally up to 4 years old.
However, it's been updated, as new as 3 to 4 months ago with newer photos and diagrams. That is what prompted the release of the threat alert. The terrorists are still bent on taking down financial institutions and so forth.
Look at it from this angle: we didn't have a clue what was being considered for an attack 4 years ago, and got caught unawares; this time we think we're more prepared, and can avert the threat, I hope.:patriot:
