New Captain Pat's in Hollywood

The new Captian Pat's, a little north of the light in Hollywood.
I ate there for the first time yesterday.
It is alot different inside from when it was Delmarva seafood. The interior looks to have been completely redone with newer hardware. Overall, it was very bright and clean. The staff was very friendly and we didn't have to wait for anything...ie. refills, orders...etc. The food was excellent, and we didn't have to wait long. I will definitely eat there again. The only thing they could add would be either some background music or a television, just to add some noise.

I saw them yesterday on my way home. Wondering if it's related to the Captain Pats in Lex Park....

I won't be going there due to the fact that not just one person at the table is allowed the all you can eat deal. If one person wants it then everyone has to get it. I think that is retarded. My husband is not big on seafood therefore would never get the all you can eat.

That makes no sense. I was thinking about trying it, but that is crazy

I saw that yesterday on my way up the road. All U Can Eat is neat. How much is it?

At Phillips, they seperate the Buffet restaurant from the menu restaurant. I think it keeps people from going to get food and bringing it back and sharing with the rest of the people at the table who did not order from the buffet. Not that you or many would do that but someone would/has/does.

I can understand - I remember going to a super place that had a "all you can eat." Naturally, their were some idiots that would buy one "all you can eat" and the others would get something of less value. Then the "all you can eat" idiot would slide stuff over to the rest! I remember the waitress going over and reminding them that they couldn't share - the idiots denied it. Anyway - it only takes a few to ruin it for the rest of us.

I rememeber when I was in college my roommates and I went to Olive Garden for the all you can eat soup, salad, and breadsticks. Well some friends of my one roommate also went and the one girl just ordered a water and then proceeded to eat all the salad and breadsticks she wanted. When the bill came she did not pay anything as she had just ordered water!

I saw a family of 5 come in yesterday while i was there and only two people got the all you can eat. They just put two tables together and only the ones getting the all you can eat sat together.

According to the waitress yesterday. This Capt. Pat's is also owned by the same person as the other one.

The all you can eat appeared to be snow crab, shrimp and hard crabs. $35.
I had Soft shell crab sandwich, fries, coleslaw and drink for $10

Both places are owned by the same guy but they are run by two totally diff people. Fom my understanding the guy who has the Captain Pats in Lex Park has nothing to do with the people running the one in Hollywood. And the AYCE policy is crazy. For the record Captain Pats in Lex Park does not have that AYCE policy that Hollywood has. So I believe they are run by diff people.

Does anyone else find this to be pricey for what you get? We always laugh when we go by the one in Lex Park with their big sign advertising it.

I also feel like the all or nothing policy is rediculous. They need to have a manager that is comfortable enough to approach those that abuse this. One warning and then just charge the guest for the extra food if they continue to abuse. I can't imagine it happens that often that they can't control it differently than all/nothing.

If I'm paying $35. for one meal, it better be a nice restaurant, and not a small crabhouse type of place. Although the price of hard crabs these days is pretty high, most AYCE places have a lot of starchy filler type of foods on the AYCE buffet/menu. You tend to want to eat a lot of food to get your "money's worth" and that is just too much food for me to eat.

From what I was told he sold the one in Lex Park to an Indian guy so he no longer owns that one. He also has on in Piney Point but I don't think that one has been open in two years but he owes the property.

I believe in some cases you are allowed to keep the name of the business but you have to pay the seller more money to keep the name. Its the same case for Stoney's in PF. The owner of Stoney's in BI and Solomons does not own the one in PF anymore, but the new owner ( former employee) was able to keep the Stoneys name.

Pat still runs the one in Lex. Pk, I was in there on Mothers Day and he was there cooking like always. The one in Hollywood he owns to, just getting it started and has someone to manage it when he is not there. I know:gossip: who waits tables on Sundays in Lex. Pk and makes good money.

It is pricy for the AYCE, but you get your moneys worth if you can eat that much.
