Well, I found our new four legged member of the family. Picked her up last night from CAWL. She is the sweetest lil girl. Her name is Callie and she's a Sheltie/Shepherd mix. When we got home last night she was a little shy and couldnt seem to grasp the idea that she has her own yard to explore and run around in. She didnt have a problem locating my bed to sleep in however. I'll post pictures tonite. She need a little more meat on her bones, but she is so pretty and has the sweetest disposition. I have a feeling she'll have us "trained" in no time. LOL :yahoo:

OK, I am waiting for the Pics. I just love hearing stories like this. I know you've been looking for a long time. How is she getting along with your Grand-Dog so far?

Well, my granddog and daughter have moved to Calvert County. I miss them both, but glad she's doing so well. So our new girl has the place to herself and she is doing very well. She is still shy and seems to spook very easy but when I came home from work last nite, she had her tail wagging and was glad to see me. We went for a walk and when we got back she explored in the yard more and attempted to catch a fly that had gotten into the kitchen. She is so sweet. As soon as I have a few minutes, I'm going to post some pictures of Miss Callie. She needs to gain a little weight but she is eating good, so that should'nt take too long.

It sounds like she is adapting well, considering you've only had her for 2, or 3 days. It will take time for her to build trust. Do you know what her Story was? How old is she? Enjoy the Day Lights out of her!!

Not sure of her past circumstances other than what CAWL told me about. They rescued her from tri-county, she was on the short list, if you know what I mean. Tricounty picked her up as a stray. But, she signals by scratching on the door when she has to go out and when she wants to come in. She seems to know what the word "no" means. She tried to have a look on my dining room table by applying her front paws to the top of it, lol, I told her no and she got down immediately. So I'm thinking someone may have had her and then dropped her. She is very skinny, but she is so gentle when you give her a treat. So I dont know about her history, but I do know her future is looking very bright. :yahoo: BTW, the people at CAWL are super to deal with and really try very hard to give these pups and kitties good homes.

I looked up Belgian Malinois, and what a beautiful creature. Congratulations ICit. Here are a few words that describe the breed: Active, Stubborn, Alert, Confident, Protective, Watchful, Bright, and Obedient. Sounds like an interesting Breed. Any Pics yet??

Okay, I'm not as computer literate as I thought I was, I'm trying to upload pictures of Callie. It keeps telling me the upload failed. What do I do?

you need to post a pic..... then i will post my pic!! :buddies:

Well, It didnt work out with Callie/Raven. I loved her but my worse half and she didnt hit it off. She was so sweet with me but still timid. My husband on the other hand, she would shake and hide under the table when he was around. He said he just couldnt get close to her when she was so afraid of him. He asked if I could take her back and then look for another dog that we both could agree on. I tried to argue the point with him that she really hadnt been with us that long and we had to give her time. He said that he was home with her during the day and he had tried to get close to her but she wanted no part of it. So he wasnt feeling anything for her. I did take her back to CAWL on Saturday and they assured me that they had another family interested in her and she would be no problem to place. It broke my heart and I cried like a baby. The attentdant at CAWL said she thought my husband may not be ready to adopt another dog yet because of our girl Nikki. Its like he's looking for another one just like her. Callie looked alike like our Nikki, and I guess he was expecting her to act the same. We're going to wait until we come back in September and try looking again.

:huggy:So sorry to hear that Luv, but I do understand where your Husband is coming from. I think you both need to go look for that perfect Dog. After my Bug died, I went right away, to find another Dog. It was a both a blessing, and an error at the same time, because I didn't wait to mourn on the loss of Mollie, and because I compared my poor Puppy to her. They are just like people, and are different. It took some time, but my new Pup filled an empty space in our hearts, and we just love her to death. You'll both find that perfect Dog, just be patient.

Thanks Roman, I appreciate the support. I know we'll find the right one, but it does have to be both of us to pick the perfect one. I'll let you know when that happens and I'm so happy that you found yours. That gives me something to look forward to. Knowing that the perfect pup (for us) will be out there. :yahoo:
