Who is "we"? Where will the organization be located? Sounds
pretty ambitious. Wish you luck. Might be a good learning tool
for schools doing electrical or computer projects as today's model
railroading equipment employs a lot of that technology. Same for
arts programs doing scenery and dioramas.

Wonder if Side track Hobbies in Leonardtown will be a
sponsor of any of this? Could be a decent fit for both.

They have a great assortment of things, plus they will do
custom mail orders for things you need. Maybe the club
van work out some discounts or group buys?

I have been talking with SideTrack about this for a while and yes he did preliminarily offer that perhaps we could meet there. I have put some effort into trying to gauge interest to see how plausible this is. The rail clubs to join are all a good distance from here. I just felt it was worth a shot realizing it would likely start very small.

I still have my Grandfathers trains from the 40's-50's My uncle had it cleaned up and it is in my basement in plastic containers been wanting to put it around the X-Mas tree for years but never got around to it.

For your consideration ...

Well, I am guessing perhaps we don't have as many model train folks down here as I thought. was hoping to have an interest meeting at the end of April.

Most likely there are. Only we have been disposed of our trains long ago for various reasons. And to get back into and acquire those older trains such as those we have memories of watching them run around the Christmas tree every year, would be quite expensive. But do not let lack of participants ruin your enjoyment of the hobby. I've had two different gauge sets over the years, unfortunately lost in moves.
