Damn, I got Progressive for 420 when I bought a 2010 Road King and added the 2005 Dyna Glide for 205. Pay 625 for both bikes and I thought that was high. This was still cheaper than Erie, who I have all my auto's with.
I got hosed because I was a new rider and I have no insurance experience rating because the bike is the only personal insurance I've had for over 20 years. The truck is a company vehicle.
$700. :bendover:
I am hoping it goes down, a lot, this year. No claims, not tickets.
Feel better now?
Maybe I'll stick with my 2000 Nightrain for another year. At a whopping $194 a year with Geico....I thought maybe because of the more cc's. Puts it in class three. How much is your ins. ? Progressive wants $579 a year. The 1100 is $169.
No mean spirit here but why own such a bike when it seems to be falling apart around itself? Are upgrade parts available to make these issues go away until normal wear and tear kills them vice bad relaibility?
I started having problems with it when it was about 2 months old. Then it started having some kind of issue about every 4 months or so. I had changed the bars, wheels and put a chunk of change into it and still owed 2 years of payments so I sucked it up. Most people that I know that have (and actually ride) Harleys don't have issues like I have had. The only problem that has repeated itself is the front brakes. Luckilly, the fine folks at All American have been first rate at taking care of all of my warranty work.
What the heck can go wrong with a disc? I had a bent one once, but the guy told me he had put an anti the bar on wrong and did it himself. I replaced it. No biggie.
The factory ones warped and so did a set of aftermarket ones. Not sure what caused it. The front brakes are dual disc. I never got them hot and hit water or anything that I know of. My joke about the bike is thatbit must have been built on Monday morning after the super bowl. I haven't had any problems since October (knock on wood) and I have been riding it pretty regularly.
