Look, Conservative Marylanders didn't get out and vote so the liberals had their way with the results. The whining and complaining about what they are doing to us now is getting old to me. I'm real anxious to see how MDers react this next election. Did they learn their lesson that they really don't want democrats having this much control?
I'm trying to send the message that this is what complacency earns you. I know you and other (assumably) conservatives get it, but many don't. So when I post this crap, just pass over it if you are tired of it.
I wish there was a way to verify those figures but I really can't see them making much of a difference one way or another in Md. In a state where the democrats out number the republicans almost 2 to 1 (1.7 million dems to 900,000 reps), I guess we were lucky to get Ehrlich for the four years we did. I think the 2002 election of Ehrlich was more of a reflection on Kathleen Kennedy Townsend than his 2006 defeat was a reflection of republican complacency.
Until republicans start to significantly increase the amount of registered voters, I think we are going to be stuck with typical Md one party politics for quite some time. 2002 was a wake up call to Md Democrats.
The sad part is new registered democrats outpaced new registered republican by approximatelty 55,000 from 2002-2006.
Lets face it; Md is a liberal world, we just live in it.
