Green Turtle is nice. I figured how it got its name.

Take plenty of Green with you and the service moves at a turtles pace.

If you are watching the game you arent in a hurry though.

huh - I did not think the prices were that bad... but we were not drinking either. They were a bit more than a Chili's or TGI Friday's...

Service was quick, but we go on a weekday; I cannot vouch personally on a weekend. I have friends who go and watch the games on a weekend... have to ask them... they do say it is packed when the Redskins play!

Are they any better than the one in Waldorf? I have lived in Chuck County my entire life (short 39 years) and have been to the one in Waldorf three times - everytime it has been a bad experience (bad service to cold / nasty food).

Short story - My wife and I went one time (the one in Waldorf) while she was doing "Mystery Shopping" and they blew the whole deal - food took about 45 minutes and it was cold... they messed up the drink order. After dealing with the waitress and different servers my wife finally got hold of the manager and told him what she was in there for and he immediately tried to make it right - and the order was still messed up... we swore we would never go back! This was about 7 years ago...

Well - should not have "sworn" to "not go back"... my brother decided to have his birthday there about 4 years ago. all I can say is that the beer was good, that was about it... same lousy service and food was blah...

I would give another one a shot - but not the one in Waldorf... I would like to go in there and watch a game - if it is like the one in Waldorf, the screens are HUGE!!!

Thats a Damon's. I've been to a number of them from East Coast to Midwest. They are all pretty bad. Sitting at the bar isn't as bad as the table service unless you need a drink.

Thanks looks like the type of place I have been looking for. Prices aren't bad, I have to go there this weekend.

Green Turtle in LaPlata, MD. - about a 30 minute drive from you... Rt. 5 north, make a left on Rt. 6 towards LaPlata...

Green Turtle - LaPlata MD.

The bar is on one side, restaurant on the other side... we have taken our 11 y/o in there and he loves the place. They even have video monitors in the booths...

"Typical White Person"
Jake and Al's in Lusby or Jasper's in Prince Frederick. Both are good bars to watch games, much better than Damon's but both are on the wrong side of the bridge for you.

I had a terrible experience at Damons. The waitress tried to pocket a 20 and the manager took her side until he realized I wasnt backing down. Food was cold, took forever too. There is nice coffee shop in San Souci Plaze the Coffee Quarter, the beans are roasted there every week. They have great deserts and sandwhichs. Sometimes they have live music. The Rennaisance Festival is still going on Maryland Renaissance Festival they have real jousting and face painting and neat costumes. To be honest about restaruants there is no more entertaining place than IHOP at midnight on the weekends, although I wonder what that says about my social life....

I think she is looking at a place to watch football, but I could be wrong.

It is very close to California and the four big (huge) screens have individual speakers at each individual table, and it is very clean with room for family away from the bar.

Yes you are probably in Damons spending the money you saved by not supporting your family!
