My aunt lives there and is elderly but not section 8, I think it is half and half but not sure.

Its two different "neighborhoods" an elderly apartment place and then subsidized housing. They are pretty close together.

The reason for the Sheriff dept and State police at Newtowne Village was on the radio this morning. Some losers tried to rob each other during a drug deal. The suspect lives in the subsidized housing unit in Leonardtown. He was charged with assault and possesion of a handgun. Of course he's already posted a $ 7500.00 bond and is out of jail, to return to his subsizdized townhouse. I'd almost bet he's on welfare, foodstamps and medical assistance also. Yep thats where I want my tax dollars to go!!!

I agree, one of the olds folks cars was broken into last year. It just amazes me how the druggies and cons get these townhomes on our paycheck. Please dont get me wrong, I know there are hardworking people and single parents who go to work everyday and are trying to make it with some assistance from the government. But why should those poor people have to live in a community where they dont feel safe and their kids are subjected to this kind of craziness. Background checks & drug testing should be mandatory if you're receiving assistance.
