What happened? Food? Service? Inquiring minds want to know.aps45819 said:Good morning all. Had dinner at St. Mary's Landing last night. Don't think I'll do that again.
One of the few menu items not deep fried was Blackend Catfish. It arrived looking pan fried a light tan color. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said you have to request it spicy to get any seasoning on it. Silly me had been under the impression that's what "blackened" implied.Railroad said:What happened? Food? Service? Inquiring minds want to know.

That's what "blackened" MEANS! I even have (somewhere) some Blackened seasoning. Nice of them to tell you about that in advance. Yup, I can understand not going back there again!aps45819 said:One of the few menu items not deep fried was Blackend Catfish. It arrived looking pan fried a light tan color. Same with their blackened scallops. I've had them prepared properly there before but last time I got them they were just as you described. We must've had the same incompetent chef.aps45819 said:One of the few menu items not deep fried was Blackend Catfish. It arrived looking pan fried a light tan color.
