New Year's Day Traditions

Surely you jest ...
I'll take what you're having. I spent NYE in the hospital staring at the ceiling. Just got home yesterday, will be pretty much non-useful for a few more days. Then I get to look forward to a surgery in a month or two to fix the issue that keeps putting me in the ER.

Heres hoping you feel better soon.

That sounds like my 2010 new years. Had spine surgery December 31, 2009 and spent 2 weeks in the hospital. It wasn't all bad though, I had a morphine button for the first week. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

We always eat pork and sauerkraut for dinner. The first dinner of the New Year is suppose to be something that doesn't "scratch" for food. Supposedly if you eat things that " scratch" for food you'll be scratching for money all year.... My gram swears by it lol. PA Dutch tradition I guess.

We were told you ate pork because pigs only root forward - the don't look back. Pork and sauerkraut is what we do every year. Central Ohio style.
