Consider that a warning to return the Pat Benatar 3-for-1 leotard set you bought last week.
Damn it! It took me forever to find those matching headbands. :banghead:

You should probably keep the hoop earrings though.
I wouldn't think of it! I like when they get tangled in my curly hair, which I pretend is permed! :diva:

leg warmers came back in fashion...I bought my friend a pair for a present, and she was all kinds of excited....80's styles are back! in fact, I need to shop for some off-the-shoulder shirts...to go with my jumbo sized pearls :yay:

I had heard that 80's styles were coming back into fashion.

I was kind of hoping that it was the mid/late 80's, like parachute pants, miniskirts, mullets, Chuck Taylors, silver jackets and Risky Business sunglasses.

Not the early 80's leg-warmers Flashdance, giant head-band, 8 pairs of socks, super-duper-cake-makeup, big shirt hanging off the shoulder type of styles.

You know what I hope comes back: Jams.

Jams, and those neon colored t-shirts that changed colors when they got warm, so people walked around with hand-prints all over their clothes.

And rubic's cube.

Jesus, please save me from this madness.

I consider myself lucky that my "fashionless" adolescent days occurred in the 80s...when you look at pics of me between the ages of 6 and 8, I can say, "Eh, it was the 80s". :lmao:

I consider myself fortunate that I hit the "wow, Jim Morrison, Hendrix, and the Stones were really awesome let me wear faded levi's and white guaze shirts-reliving the 60s" phase in the early 80s...

I've seen yearbooks from every decade since the 1950's. Everyone looks stupid. All styles look stupid when there are more than 7 or 8 years between you and the style.

I remember when some 70's styles began resurfacing in the 90's. And I was rolling my eyes saying things like "Oy f***ing vey... not bell-bottoms and tube tops!" or "Holy crap! Lookit that hair!!!"

Eventually, I thought the 90's version of the 70's wasn't so bad after all.

Maybe now in the 00's we can do the 80's only better.

I wonder what we're going to do in the 10's and 20's when the nostalgia has been used up, and there are no more retro-decades to rehash.

And no matter what, I still say that Acid washed button-fly bullethole jeans are timeless. I don't care what they say.

I don't think other styles, fads, whatever look stupid now. I think they were kinda cool, actually. I wish I could dress like June Cleaver. I love her poofy frocks! But the 80s to me were just ridiculous. Hair and everything.

:twitch:

I hope asymmetrical haircuts come back too.

Remember those? Hair was cut short beginning with the bangs and increasing in length around the head until it came to somewhat of a diagonal point on the other side. Or the hair was really short on one side (left or right) and a longer length in back and on the other side.

Looked good with the collar turned up :yay:

GOWD I absolutely hated the styles of the 70’s and 80’s argh….I have pictures of some of the best years of my life that look awful since the styles were so unflattering.

As for Pearls, pink or black? They will never be out of style, but wear them while I'm cleaning the house (Get Real June! :lmao: )
