Nice Restaurant

If it's not THE nicest, it's one of top places to have dinner with someone special. The Tavern at The Village in the Wildewood Retirement Center. I've been there 4-5 times and not had a sub-par dining experience yet. Last time was Valentine's Day when I took my girlfriend and her Mom out there. I took the time to go to the flower shop on Great Mills Rd. and set up a delivery of a 1/2 dozen red roses(for each lady) sent to the restaurant.
Once we got there, I said I had to wash my hands in, well, you know, and checked with the hostess to see if the roses had in fact arrived. They had, and I had them delivered during pre-dinner coctails. You want to see two women get blown away??!!?? Turns out Mom had NEVER had flowers delivered to her at a restaurant--ever! Just a suggestion.................

I'd say the Tavern or Oakwood Lodge would be two very nice places to go. The location of Oakwood is just wonderful... especially if you're there around sunset. And if you're wanted to head this far south, I would have to say Broome Howard is a very nice atmosphere, with good food!

Husband and I went to Silver Skewers for our 22nd anniversary, located in Waldorf on 925. A little whole- in -the wall gourmet- not cheap but very much worth it. You will be surprised only a few tables and only a few items on menu. everything is grilled and on a skewer. run by husband and wife team. Mid east flair. YUM!

Nice Place to for an Anniversary Dinner

Somebody(forgot who, forgive me) already mentioned DiGiovanni's in Solomons, and they're right. Very good Italian cuisine and a great view of the harbor at Solomons Island. If you're close enough to that area, and you/her like Italian, there's nothing else really that touches it. There's Guido's about 6 miles up the road(H.G. Truman), but it's not in the same galaxy as DiGiovanni's. Try the Carbanara entree with a good bottle of wine of your chioce and you'll do well. And yes, they do have some very good wines there. Prices are moderate, you can dine well and not exceed $75-85.00 for two, if you don't get carried away. (if you do--that's your business!)The owners Jeri and Ceff will ensure you have a pleasant experience.

Rose Red - yeah the silver skewers was written up in the paper a few weeks ago. The night we were there the chef made delicious ApplePieIcecream. Only one left (we had to share it). :)
