Ok, there's a reason kid's don't vote.

My son's 1st grade class held an "election" He voted for Bush because he thought it would be cool for him to get elected twice in a row. Bush won, BTW.

When he saw the ad on Nickelodeon for the elections, he asked me if people were allowed to vote twice. I told him no. I hadn't noticed the commercial, but when I did, I realized he was asking if he was allowed to vote online, since he'd voted in class.

I'm pretty sure most of the kids who voted were adolescents who had a better understanding of the political system. Plus they have to know how to use a computer. Your son sounds to young to even know how to access a website, well he could with the help of an adult. I don't think children should vote either. I just thought that was interesting.

I don't think Americans should be allowed to vote until they are 18 yrs old and have a H.S. diploma. A diploma in which it was required to take an American History exam along with a Government and Economics exam covering all the bases...

The same test for everyone too. That includes the smart kids, the dumb kids, the retarded kids, and the pregger kids.

How do you figure they are adolecents? He saw the commercial on a show for the 5-8 yo crowd. If he'd asked I would have logged him on and let him vote and discussed the process with him. As it was, he forgot about it since he figured he wasn't allowed to vote anyway. Most of the Nick shows don't appeal to anyone over 12.

I'd be willing to bet lots of them voted for Kerry because they were taught all about sharing and taking turns and they figured Bush had his turn, now it was time for the next kid waiting in line for the slide.

The Red Sox beat the Yankees last night.

The Red Sox are from Boston.

The democratic convention was held in Boston.

The republican convention was held in New York.

Just a coincidence?????

I think not.......

(Okay I hope not)

That's not true. Teen Nick comes on. Also Spongebob has a huge cult following.

Children also believe in Santa Claus, magic, monsters, fairies, the Easter Bunny, and everything they see on television. They believe that a taller glass contains more water than a wide glass. They believe that the wall jumped out in front of them when they plowed into it. They believe that the glasses that they buy in the back of comic books will allow them to see through clothes and walls. They believe their parents are getting divorced because they are "bad".

Unfortunately they also believe (or at least they repeat) any political drivel that their parents spew their way.

Fortunately, most will grow up before they start voting.

Chidren of America? I'd say a more accurate statement is that "The Parents of Nickelodeon Children" picked Kerry.

Whippity doo.

I totally disagree with this. Why should having a diploma be requisit for voting? There are some very sharp people with GED's.

In fact, I think that ALL white male property-owners should be able to vote.

In case anyone missed that, it was a joke

No. And I didn't say they made a mistake this time, either. Don't put words into my mouth. I really don't like it.

In case I was unclear, I will reword it: Logically speaking, celebrating this poll is an exercise in political masturbation, and naught else.

I hope that makes my point less ambiguous.
