Hell, used to back an F700 liftbed up to aircraft all the time, 3-4 inches between the stakebed and the boarding ladder, 6-8 between the end of the bed and the fuselage. Made loading stuff a lot easier. And no, no spotter.

As I've pulled a wheelchair out of my trunk I can't tell you how many people ive seen jump out of their vehicles and run into the store after parking in handicapped spaces.
