Are the streets paved of gold out there? Is it the land of milk and honey?
I absolutely love the Colorado Springs area, but I recall the taxes (state, city and county) really added up. I also remember a trip to Denver where the hotel really tried to gouge us on a repair that had to be made, until I spoke with the manager and reminded him that he was spending his tax dollars as well as mine on the repair - he came back with a much more reasonable price for a couple of bags of topsoil to be spread where our truck ran onto the grass of $300. He originally quoted us $700. We went to a home improvement center, picked up 3 bags of topsoil and the rake to smooth it over, did it ourselves and gave him the rake. Colorado's a beautiful place, but it does have its warts.
