Can anyone give me information on the no kill shelters in St. Mary's for cats? My ex tells me he had to give up 3 cats to a no kill shelter ( instead of asking me if I could take them). I am trying to get the name from him. But he is not very forthcoming with information. Thank you.

I had a stray cat I was taking care of. They call it a tiger based on her coat design. She took care of my 3 outside cats from threats from other animals. Very protective as if it was the mother. The mother of the three died a month earlier, which looked exactly like this cat. My cats even thought this cat was their mother. However, I buried the cat after it passed away and the grass over her grave was still in place. Had me wondering me though. A neighbor who lets his trash blow around the neighborhood called Animal control because the wild animals were getting in his trash. The trap animal control set also got domestic animals. One of the animals was the protective cat, which was not quite tame, that I adopted. The neghbor said it was his. Based on him saying that, Animal Control/ the Tri County Shelter said they can put the cat asleep on the SAME DAY. I tried to get my cat back. The murdered her the same day just because the neighbor LIED and said it was his cat. Don't forget the bible says "love they neighbor". Anotherwards, the Tri County Shelter is a slaugter house in my opinion.

YIKES - that's awful ! That would be one reason to maintain a good relationship with your neighbors although that doesn't guarantee anything of course.

Unfortunately when we have cats that live outside, things like that can happen. It's not a usual thing, but it can. I feel awful for you.

Some of the cats we have been trapping, fixing, & releasing could belong to a nearby family? We don't know really. Like one cat we named River Boy - he had not been seen by the feeders before he was trapped. So he may have come from a neighbors farm? Well he's been neutered and released and we saw him again, so he's hanging around.
