DoWhat is very hand-y.

Be careful. You never know where that hand has been. :gutters: :lmao:

About a month ago, the second phone line I had in my house for accessing the Internet developed a lot of static. I called and was scheduled for service that Saturday from 8 - 12. The technician showed up at 1:30. :ohwell: He couldn't fix it but promised someone would go to the main box and fix it that afternoon or the next morning. It was fixed about 8 Sunday night.

My phone had been out since Friday. Verizon's repair web site recommended taking a phone out to the connection box, un-plugging the connection from the house and plugging in the phone. Did the check this morning and presto had a dial-tone.

Realized I was online Friday when the power went out. Disconnected the phone line from the modem and got dial-tone throughout the house. Evedently when the computer went off, the modem never hung-up. :whack: Now If I just would of done this last Friday instead of this morning :ohwell:

:huggy: My sister's phone is still out and none of the do it yourself stuff worked. Verizon said next Thursday they'd be out between 8 and 3.

Thanks for the suggestions. They won't work for me however. Our phone line snapped in half. Half of it is hanging off a tree in our yard and the other is laying on the ground across the street from us.

I've been without phone service since the storm too - we also have snapped lines on my street. SMECO and MetroCast were quick to fix the electric & cable TV, but I haven't seen anything of Verizon. Their lines are still laying in the road. When I called they told me it would be fixed by the 15th! Gee thanks! In their defense though, I have heard that fixing the phone lines is more involved than the electric/cable. Don't know if that's true or not...?

We have been without phone service since 5 pm last Friday. I called Verizon on Saturday when I realized our phone line had snapped. I was told usual repairs are in 24 hours but could take until Wednesday, 9/13/06 to be repaired. I was told however it would probably not take that long to fix. I have not heard much about phone service being out in Southern Maryland. Are other folks out there in the same predicament? Does anyone find their span of time to make a repair too long? Thanks.
The phone company worked on my street on Mon-Wed getting the lines up off the ground. Today I noticed that all the repair trucks are gone and we STILL don't have phone service!
I called Verizon today and they told me that the soonest they can get someone out will be Sept 18! Holy Crap! :smack:
