Airgasm said:My phone had been out since Friday. Verizon's repair web site recommended taking a phone out to the connection box, un-plugging the connection from the house and plugging in the phone. Did the check this morning and presto had a dial-tone.
Realized I was online Friday when the power went out. Disconnected the phone line from the modem and got dial-tone throughout the house. Evedently when the computer went off, the modem never hung-up.Now If I just would of done this last Friday instead of this morning

The phone company worked on my street on Mon-Wed getting the lines up off the ground. Today I noticed that all the repair trucks are gone and we STILL don't have phone service!Maureen said:We have been without phone service since 5 pm last Friday. I called Verizon on Saturday when I realized our phone line had snapped. I was told usual repairs are in 24 hours but could take until Wednesday, 9/13/06 to be repaired. I was told however it would probably not take that long to fix. I have not heard much about phone service being out in Southern Maryland. Are other folks out there in the same predicament? Does anyone find their span of time to make a repair too long? Thanks.
