We.re lucky here on the island. Three different kinds of skeeters, ticks, chiggers, no see ums, and every kind of stinging bee/wasp/hornet ever invented.

Paradise.

Live ones walking on your wood deck, maybe gasoline and a road flare? Works for spiders too :)

I stand corrected. Just not on my deck anymore.
Chiggers and spiders are toast though. Literally.

I think it's from Saturday or whatever day it was sunny - I laid out on a blanket for three hours.
This is most likely how you got them. Caladryl - calamine lotion with benadryl. OR Get the CalaGEL from Technu. That might work, too

(Don't double up on all the products and overdose on Benadryl!)

Caladry - that's what I've got not calamine. Took an oatmeal bath in tepid water, put the caladryl on, didn't itch for all of five minutes. Didn't have any Benadryl naturally. I might break down and see a doctor later there must be a walk in around here somewhere that is not the emergency room.

Calagel might work even better than Caladryl...

You need to alter your 3 am path or use bug repellent when you go to that place again.
And maybe keep your clothes on, too, when you sit down in that grassy field!

But, seriously, once a chigger bite starts itching, the actual animal is long gone, so the nail polish, acetone, varnish, etc. remedies are really doing nothing but damaging your skin with hazardous chemicals (though you may or may not feel better after). They claim, back in the redneck woods I come from, that those "treatments" would suffocate and kill the chigger (or red bug as they were more frequently called).

Stick with the hydrocortisone, calamine, benedryl, etc. itch relief remedies. But the only really cure is time.

If you have hand sanitizer that might work, since you don't have straight alcohol. Witchhazel might be an alternative too.
Hope you find relief soon. Having chiggers is awful.

Or maybe if you can stand it a dip in the Potomac or Bay might help. Salt water does some amazing things.

That might be a little too dangerous, unless she stays close to shore.. The boaters are making up for lost time. A lot of sea trials today.

As far as chiggers, I've always found nail polish or New Skin™ dabbed on the spot and just grit your teeth and bear it. As jrt sad give them time. Unfortunately it seems like nothing works great. I've never had a severe case SG, but the nail polish does seem to reduce the intensity of the itching. The nail polish remover may be lacquer thinner and will help, unless it's the "safe" kind.

What exactly are you suggesting GURPS? Does it go something like Benadryl, sangria, and jumping off a pier maybe?

🤣

If you can hold your liquor a few feet of water should be no challenge .... otherwise don't go any deeper that chest high
