"The medicine prize went to Steven Stack of Wayne State University and James Gundlach of Auburn University, for their 1992 report, "The Effect of Country Music on Suicide." The research of 49 metropolitan areas concluded "that the greater the airtime devoted to country music, the greater the white suicide rate."

Loved last years scienc ig-nobel, some figured out how to get a charcole grill ready to cook in about 15 seconds. Just pour liquid oxygen on the briquettes and apply a match.

Country music: By people that whine too much; for people that like whining too much. If I had to repeatedly listen to crap songs about getting drunk because some dumb woman left me, I'd shoot myself too.

Probably most of what you listen to is about that, you just can't understand the words.

Actually, no. If I can't understand the words, its not worth listening to. I don't just listen to music because it "sounds good." Honestly, I could care less if they can sing or not, hell I'm not that picky when it comes how well the lyrics are written; but, the concept/meaning behind the lyrics, must apeal to me. I don't listen anything popular, hell I can't stand 90% of what's played on the radio, so I listen to CD's.
