Non ethanol gas

For little motors I run E-zero. My (sold) sailboat motor, an Atomic 4 at 1.0L/30HP counted as a small motor, as does the Stihl leaf blower. I am hopeful the demand stays up, as its availability is nice when you need/want it.

For your consideration ...

That a 57 Chevy? Also, did you ever collect those Hess model tanker trucks they sold at each gas station?
yep...had a 1967 Corvette 327-365HP engine with an M21 4-speed. Compression ratio was over 11:1. I'd run Sunoco 260 when I couldn't afford the 104..it was still more than twice the cost per gallon of regular at the time.

Never collected the trucks.

My first car was a 62 Buick Skylark with a small V8. I used to run Sunoco 260 in it once in a while. Rightly or wrongly I thought it would clean the plugs somehow. I know the engine liked it. Great little car but it had aluminum heads and was prone to warping them. Happened to me twice. I didn't have the money to get them machined. First time I fixed it just replacing the gaskets. Second time I used two sets torqued the heads down. Never had another issue. I wish the cars today were that easy to work on.

I just watched a video from Pine Hollow Diagnostics. Customer was getting codes after cleaning the throttle body. Turns out Honda has a whole series of procedures for re-learning the throttle position after a cleaning, and it got pretty involved and required test equipment few people would have.

Can't even unstick your own throttle butterfly.

Those aluminum V8s were so under-appreciated at the time. As you probably know, Buick ended up selling the engine design to Leyland and they ended up producing many for their Land Rover vehicles...

I have a BIL that has collected them and Texaco toys since he was a kid. I think the last year for Hess was 2013.
Nope. Still going but you have to online order them.

Worked at Hess back in the early 70s, sold those trucks. 50% bring-back/replacement because the lights never worked. Had to take the truck out of the box and test them in front of the customer before we could sell them. Pre-LED micro-mini incandescents.

90 non-ethanol was $3.67/gallon and 87 ethanol regular was $2.94. Filled up 5 cans and my truck. ;-)
This post just reminded my that I have 20 gallons of corn liquor fuel in my generator cans that I need to burn in the vehicles and restock the non-E cans for the winter.
