There used to be a farmer's market every Friday evening. Live music vendors and classic cars. It was a good evening out ...... until covid. Now in its place they have a First Friday, not so good but O.K.
Yeah, the last couple years pre-Covid with that Farmer's Market had less than six farmers, the rest (almost thirty, along with a crabber, when we started it) had been chased out by the drunks at the open air bar crawl it had become. A couple more vendors left because the Health Department kept citing them because people just had to bring their dogs and couldn't/wouldn't keep the animals out of the vendor's displays (primarily bread/baked goods).

From what I understand, there was also a problem with “teen misbehavior”.

Yeah. A lot of parents considered it public provided babysitting.

The lead up to Hurricane Irene saw us have eight foot swells at the beach. So what do people from other parts of Calvert do? Why, they brought their kids down to wander the Boardwalk even though we had the waterfront closed with barricades and staff deployed. Didn't matter, the kids had to have something to do since school was canceled.
