I had to take back the BJ King mattress. It had too many pressure points throughout the back and shoulders. Even had the problem trying to sleep on my side. I am not heavy or out of shape. The BJ mattress says 100% money back guarantee. I talked to the manager and I had to return it myself. No problem. They would not come and get it. I didn't mind though. I returned it. Besides more of the exact same thing (BJ King) that I had a problem with, the only thing they had left was a King Sealy Posturepedic in "sealed plastic wrapper. Two left of the Sealy in King. The Asst. Manager said the Sealy cost more. I paid the difference. At that point I was just glad to get something that doesn't jab me in the back every night. I noticed it looked smaller when switching it out from the BJ King to the Sealy King in the sealed wrapper. I checked again with the wrapping paper. It clearly said "KING" mattress. I got it home. Put it on the bed. It was nearly two feet narrow than what it should be. I called the Asst. Manager. He pawned me off on another employee. I told her about the problem as well. She said she would check it out and get back in touch with me in 20 minutes. She never did. I called countless times. I was put on hold several times and then "accidently" hung up on twice. I drove back to the store again, over a half hour drive each way. I brought my own measuring tape this time.

They said we are showing another King Sealy in the wrapper. I said I saw it there. It is NOT a KING. It is a QUEEEN in a KING wrapper from Sealy. The same as what already happened to me. I told them you guys are actively selling Queen mattresses to customers as if they are KIng. They ignored me. A employee took the mattress cart back to the mattresses and asked me to follow him. I did. Again, he looked for the SAME Queen Sealy in a KING plastic sealed wrap. I told them several times they should take the other Queen in a King wrap off of the display since it falsely identifies what it is. They ignored me again. I measured it for him as I did wth the other employee. I showed two employees now it was a QUEEN. Not a KING. I told the Asst. Manager from the beginning. It is like he ignored me or didn't know what to do. If all of this isn't bad enough, one of their employees let the cat out of the bag and said the "same" problem happened with other mattress products they have had. It appears this is an ongoing, continuous problem.

Meanwhile, I am forced to sleep on a Queen when I paid extra money for a Sealy King. Hopefully this has a positive ending and the BJ management will work to resolve the issue to their customer's satisfication........... To be continued....................

Some people can sleep on anything, but I'd recommend going to a mattress store and making a selection based off of more than how cheap a mattress is if you are particular at all or have back, neck, or shoulder pain. A good mattress really straightened my morning pains out. I know you probably don't want to hear that though. I'd buy one at BJs for a guest room that got the rare sleeper on it but that's about it.

I sleep on a futon with a full-size mattress topper and a quilt thrown on for good measure. After spending my misguided youth on couches, recliner chairs, and an occasional wooden pallet with a couple of moving blankets for padding, my futon is like a cloud.

It's a $1300.00 mattess. And it appears to be the same as the mattress store products. In addition, I tried all of the mattress stores in the County. That's why I ended up with BJs. Bad move. They used to have good stuff. I guess times change. None at the mattress stores had anything at least that I noticed that didn't have issues. However, I have recently been told that more and more people are getting on line mattresses in a box these days because so many people, other than myself are disappointed in mattress stores as well. I suspect I will probably end of going that direction. But, not until I have concrete advice on which one is the best product and best for the money.

I have a TempurPedic that's like a rock and it's the best sleep I've ever had.

Anyway, if OP paid for a King that's what he should have, durhard BJ's AM's be damned. Gripe on their social media pages - that usually gets attention.

You should get in touch with Susan Hogan on NBC4 and have her do an investigation. She's the consumer reporter.

It sounds as though he didn't even lay on it before purchase.

Mattress stores are ripoffs no doubt and the mattress companies are in on it making the same mattress with many different names and outside colors etc so you can't comparison shop. I use to go to Mattress Corner on GMR, there I got a Paramount HD there and it's been great. Unfortunately they closed a few years ago. $1300 is cheap for a king btw.

This is what was right for me, had to lay on many mattresses to figure it out though.

I had one that was inside of a regular mattress. Best sleeps ever!
First wife and I had one of those back in the very early 80s.. In fact, if I recall correctly, it was actually dual-chamber..each side could be filled to different level. Heavily baffled inside to keep sloshing to a minimum. My recollection is that it was OK...we bought it when I was recovering from a broken back and lots of surgery...

Mine was a full size, not divided. A friend of mine was moving and gave it to me. I liked the mattress top so you wouldn't get cold from the water.

Just sneakin' around....
Mine had a water heater, but I never felt comfortable, either temp or comfort wise. Always woke up achy. I was happy to go back to a traditional mattress.
