All true. The one scenario that can deliver high yield detonation to our shores is a container shipment. Only about 2% (may be 3% now) of containerized shipments are inspected. A nuke hidden in a shipment of heavy equipment or other heavy stuff so that significant shielding can be use and not seem out of place could get by. It could be trucked anywhere. I don't know if it is true, but there were stories going around that there were many nukes missing from the former Soviet Union. You don't have to build one if you can buy one.

...bad guys got theirs into the country.

Went to an old Sov weapon test range for nuke arty shells, found some unspent material, 100 jihadists died of radiation poisoning digging it up and getting it into a shielded container, shipped it into Charleston, got it on a trailer and went off site to put it in a big fishing cooler, stuck it on a fishing boat and up the Chessie she sailed.

I still think their best bet is to bomb one or more of our nuclear facilities...

I can't remember if I read this or if a friend from Calvert Cliffs told me, but American built nuclear (or nuke-u-lar if you use W's pronounciation) power plants were designed to withstand a direct impact from a DC-3 sized airplane. This has been the standard since the 50's, I believe.

It's shocking how prophetic that turned out to be, I think.

Well to put this into Biblical and Christian prospective, the Bible prophesy says that there will be a period of world wide anarchy before Jesus returns. As a Christian, it does not matter when or how my earthly body meets its end. It is only a temporary container for my soul which can only be destroyed by God. Since I believe in God come as man as Jesus as my Savior and Lord, the day my earthly body dies is graduation day; a joyous event.
I'm looking forward to that day, myself. My wife, is, too, even more so; she's already suffered enough and (it appears) has a long way to go yet.

I thought it was a 707? Both are too small by todays standards. The World Trade Center Towers were designed to take an impact from a 707. Todays big airplanes hold a lot more fuel than a 707.

I'd rather die old. I'm really enjoying life right now.

I thought the PROK's missile was loaded with inert material to simulate the warhead load.

There's a difference between "missing" and "in the hands of..." There are many things that go missing in everyone's militaries, including nukes, that aren't missing. They are mislabled, misplaced, mis-counted, etc. In this day of raging suicide bombers and jihadists, it there actually were any actual, detonatable, nukes out there in the wrong hands we would definately know about it by now.

As for the PROKs the warheads were simulated conventional, which are about 1/4 or so the weight of a nuclear.
