Dems :twitch:

I didn't get the joke either, and even after I read the cue post, I went back and re-read it. I didn't find it offensive, just stupid. Why do you need to know you are 145 miles from Georgia, why isn't it "to."

the slave was from georga and trying to escape to an underground railroad or something... that was my thought... I wouldn't have fuond it offensive had someone posted a poll on whether it was offensive and the only way I could concoct that it was offensive if maybe this was the case at hand  Guess I just thought too hard on the matter... :frown:

Visualize the joke ladies. You have three rednecks strolling down a road. They see a graveyard and the first redneck sees a headstone and from the information on it (name, born, died) he ciphers from that data the age of 87 years. Redneck number two finds one that sums up to 95 years. And then poor old dumb as a rock Jeb comes upon a road-marker indicating that he was 145 MILES FROM GEORGIA and thinks it’s a gravestone too.

And Kizzy it’s “from” Georgia because they are walking away from there.

Don't worry. I thought it was some guy named Miles and because he was so old when he died, plus because he died in a car accident, they put a marker on the side of the road - you know, where he got in the car crash - with some plastic flowers and things.

Yes, I thought that too except he was gay which would have made it even more offensive I suppose.:ohwell:

Was it a car crash? Is that why the marker was on the side of the road?
