They're already announcing closings for Tuesday:

Due to school closures, Sheriff Tim Cameron has canceled the Town Creek Community Meeting scheduled for tonight from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Town Creek Elementary School. This meeting will be rescheduled.

Charles County Public Schools will open two-hours late on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. There is a code one for employees.

St. Mary's County Public Schools are closed on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Code 3 for employees. Code 3 means no employee should report to work. Administrative leave will be provided for twelve-month employees only. Designated emergency personnel should contact the Division of Supporting Services at 301-475-4256, ext. 9, for directions as to when to report to work.

Calvert County Public Schools Closed (Code Yellow for 12-Month Employees)

* Schools closed due to inclement weather for all students and 10 and 11-month employees.
* All emergency personnel report as usual.
* All other 12-month employees report 2 hours late (Code Yellow).
* Liberal leave is in effect. Employees must notify their immediate supervisor.
* All after school and evening activities are canceled

As school personnel have been driving around the county this evening, we have found the main roads are clear but school parking lots, bus stops, and side streets (especially in the southern part of the county) are not safe for school busses to operate.

PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD UNLESS YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING INFO ON VERIFIED CLOSINGS/CANCELLATIONS. Other threads are available to comment on the storm, or you can start a new one.

If you do not have a forum's user account and would like to contribute info on closings and cancellations, please email closings (at) somd.com.
