The Industrial Revolution started in the great pollution of the atmosphere.
Coal fired furnaces making steel and powering plants and mills ,throwing pollution into the air.
We have been polluting the atmosphere for almost 300 years now and these dildo's think they can turn that around overnight?
It aint gonna happen .
Certainly we should try to clean up as best we can, but we cannot destroy a way of life in order to do it. People need to heat their homes, get to work, eat food the farmers have to grow. All requires energy and energy's by-product is pollution. There are millions of people on this earth now and each requires energy. The only way to drastically reduce our energy need is to kill 3/4ths of the people of the earth and I am not ready to volunteer to be one of those that have to go.
These Global warmers wont be happy until we are all shivering in the cold ,starving and out of work., and still the cyclical warming and cooling of the earth will go on and they will still be crying that the sky is falling and blaming it on human beings.

Watched one of the global warming shows on National Geographic the other night, all the "scientists" keep saying "It's almost out of control", "We're losing control" etc.
I wasn't aware we have ever controled the climate.

McCain actually said something smart the other day on TV about this...
He said there is a huge problem with this that needs to be fixed quickly...
And he said that "even if we are wrong about the existence of global warming, that there's no harm in being wrong, because we left a better planet for our children by fixing it."
Is there anything else you're in denial about? I mean, you don't believe there's a problem with housing, in your book there's no global warming, and you think Bush smells like a rose...

You know if you'd actually read something other than forum comments you'd know that China is literally killing the Earth making all that cheap crap you're buying in Walmart...
Same goes for our raghead problem. Find a way to live and prosper without oil and those mofo's can go back to riding camels and pounding sand instead of buying up this country with their oil dollars. I guess you've missed all those big cash infusions into our financial institutions lately as well...
Then we can sell our clean technology to the rest of the world...

Also, I haven't been in a Walmart in maybe a year or so? As your your fantasy's about the Middle East and oil, you go right on believing in that fairy tale, too. Oil is good stuff. Very useful. If we banned it tomorrow, other nations would continue to use it and we would descend into such economic chaos where we'd all end up renters.
As for China, their development of a viable middle class, people with something to lose, is essential to long term global stability, quality control issues not with standing. We'd have real problems if they were all just renters and had no long term interests.
As for alternatives to oil use, I'm all for whatever is economically sound.
