Oil Gasket Replacement Job?

For the first time in 7 years I decided to get my oil changed at a place instead of doing it on my own. For a number of reasons I have just had not had the time. They proceed to tell me the my oil pan is leaking, and I should get a new gasket at some point. I had replaced a gasket on a 20+ y/o F150 transmission before and that was not fun at all so I agreed and got it the next day.

Take a look at how they replaced (hopefully) my gasket and how a leak was attempted to be sealed.

I will be returning tomorrow for the third time to let them know it is leaking. Last time they said it was the plug, this time I put the car up and found the leak myself.

At this point I won't say who it was that did this, because they have provided great service before so I will see how this goes. I'm not expecting a problem but I will have to see this on the rack not leaking before I drive it home.

Hopefully you paid with a credit card.
Call your card company and tell them to refuse all claims from the people that screwed up your car by slapping sealant all over your engine.
Take it to a reputable repair shop, let them fix the mess than get a lawyer and sue the first shop for the costs you have incurred.

Never, ever let the thieves at the first place anywhere near your car.
FYI - they didn't replace your gasket

I partially agree with you, but I am going to talk with the manager first. He has always been straight with me before. The leak was in a different place before, they did show me that while the car was in the air. I am calling my CC company though to put in a dispute.

If they had dropped the pan and replaced the gasket, there would have been no need to slop sealant all over your engine.

Yea, it makes me sad because I have posted at least one review about how great they have been in the past so I am hoping it is just a tech issue and not something the manager signed off on.

At least they didn't try duct tape. :lmao:

Well the charges will be temporarily off my card until a resolution happens. Basically they have 30 days to refund or dispute. My pictures will be sent in the mail tomorrow along with copies of the receipt.

Next comes the email carpet bomb to the CEO and other muckyity mucks. It has worked great in the past for me with other companies so I have hopes.

This was done by a franchised auto repair and not a garage behind a bar? :faint:

I will if need be tomorrow. I just found this about an hour before I posted it. Since then I have sent out the carpet bomb, disputed the charge, and emailed them from their website. I can't do anything else until they open tomorrow.
