I can't get yahoo messenger to work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've unblocked it everywherer I could find to unblock it. It let's me log in and I can see my buddy list, etc., but immediately, an error message pops up -- the one that tells you there's an error, do you want to send the error report or not?? But it basically says it doesn't know why it won't work. And then YIM closes. :frown: It's very frustrating!! :bawl:

Anybody have any ideas? I'll make for the winner a pot of chili, made from a beloved forumette's secret recipe! :elaine:

What is your exact error message? Have you made any changes to your settings since the last time it worked successfully? Have you installed a new firewall or changed any firewall settings? Installed anything new (software or hardware other then reinstalling yahoo messenger)? Sorry for all the questions, but have to ask....

Oh, I forgot to mention I just got the laptop Friday, Husband hooked me to the wireless network and internet, loaded whatever it said to load. Then I tried to load YIM. It hasn't worked even once.

Sorry I must have been editing my question when you replied. Sounds like it has something to do w/ firewall or router or network settings. Not sure which one without knowing how it was all setup or what software was installed.....

Already did that, too. :ohwell: Before I changed the firewall settings, it wouldn't even let me log in.

The stupid error message won't let me copy and paste. Lemme see if I can figure something out...

Crap. Your fibulator is incompatible with your wan-ware configuration. Try doing a floppy boot hitting the control-F1-backspace key at the time the calculatius.exe attempts to execute. That should do the trick.
