NIS could be blocking Yahoo from starting up, disable it... Right click it in the taskbar and choose disable. Just for now, as we are troubleshooting...

Uninstall and get an old version, one without the bugs...

I think something is definitely wrong with the new yahoo. Since I got the newest one, it only works when it feels like it I get error messages all the time, saying it has to close for some reason. It wont work again until i restart my computer, then it'll work, until it decides it doesnt want to anymore. I'm too lazy to get the old one right now, maybe someday.
