I'm not sure where you live at or if you want to come to Waldorf, but, Galleria is highly recommended, I haven't gotten a wax there because I'm in the same boat you are, but Galleria and Tigs Salon & Spa also offers waxing. My best friend went to Tig and she said she did a great job! Hope I helped ya out!

Where is this Tigs place and what do they charge for a regular bikini wax or a French bikini wax?
I tried the Galleria but they lost my appointment TWICE and then had the nerve to be rude about it. They did a good job once I finally got in but I'm never ever going back there after all that nonsense. I'm not looking for anything fancy in a salon, just some place that I don't have to explain the difference between regular, french and brazilian to (if they don't know these things they probably haven't been properly trained in waxing specifically and I don't want them anywhere near me) and a private room (I had one salon expect me to strip down behind what amounted to four paper screens set up in a square, eep).
Please help, my favorite place is several hours away now that I moved I'm so lost

Agh, thanks, I had just seen it mentioned in an earlier post. For the record I'm not discussing this out of want for attention (and I resent that you mentioned it), I just don't want to go through bad wax jobs in search of a good one. Why do trial and error if I can get a good name first?
I apologize for jumping to conclusions. I didn't think I was being fragile, I just sort of expect strangers to be kind to one another and follow the "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all" rule, but in reading the other boards I'm quickly noticing this doesn't really hold true around here. Beyond that (not that you would know this anyway), I can't stand the types that seek attention for attention's sake and thinking I was being called one caused me to flip a little. Thanks for the clarification on that. Again, sorry for reacting a bit too quickly. I'll learn how to survive these boards yet.

The woman was admitted to an emergency room just two weeks after receiving a the Brazilian bikini wax, a procedure that involves removing even more hair front-to-back than a traditional bikini wax, according to the Brief Report published online in the June issue of the journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases.
"Our case is notable, because it illustrates the infectious risks of pubic hair removal in a patient with diabetes," the authors concluded. "The beauty industry is growing at an unprecedented rate and more invasive and potentially harmful procedures are increasingly available."
The authors of the report warn that anyone with a compromised immune system, including diabetics and people infected with HIV, should think twice about waxing, or any beauty procedure.
While the patient experienced "significant pain" and some bleeding during the procedure, which was performed by a trainee beauty therapist, her health had taken a sharp turn for the worse by the time she sought medical attention.
