We have a female puppy in a foster home that has an ectopic ureter problem that causes her to pee all the time. She has to have surgery to correct it.

Did you get these pups from the HSCC. They look familiar.

We got them from Calvert County Humane Society.

I think I have their sister at my house....she looks just like the darker one

You might - although - these pics are a couple months old. They're about 30-40 pounds each, now. They both came from a box on the side of the road left near the shelter with a bunch of pups in it, presumably from the same litter.

And I *know* there's at least two more out there from the litter that we didn't get - one of them was a female who looks more like the light brown colored one. She had to be moved from her first foster home, because she seemed to think the baby chichuahus housed there were squeaky toys.

The little boogers as of last week...

As you can see they've gotten a lot bigger, and they no longer leave little tootsie rolls around but big honkin' lincoln logs.

The one I have came from Calvert(I got her from the Well Pet Clinic in LP)....they said that she was part of a litter that was "left"....she has the dark color of your darker one with light "stripes" going down either side of her back....she also has lighter fur on her front feet and her chest

She thinks my lab(130lbs) is a chew toy/wrestling partner....If I can get her and her "older sister" to hold still long enough I will see if I can get a pic

That's the story they told us, as well - that if someone hadn't noticed the box "move" they might not have realized it had puppies inside. They were left there during the Christmas season - and since they name their dogs, we kept - sort of - the names THEY gave them.

I say "sort of" because we were told they had two pups named "Jingle" and "Jangle" - but the dark one we actually TOOK, they had named "Silver Bell" (yeah, all Christmas names". Since we were getting two anyway, we just called OUR female "Jingle" to match the male.

So it's highly possible you have their sister.

I was there when the man brought them in. His wife saw the box moving and saw the little heads sticking out. The pups were about 3 weeks old at the time. They tried to take care of them for a few days but it became too much for them. Two of our other puppy foster moms took them home to care for them. I was too afraid of having to bottle feed and be up all the time with them to take them home with me.

If you ever want to show them off, show up at the humane society on a Sunday and ask for Carolyn. She'd love to see her bottle babies again.

How many were there, in the box?

I have to admit, I've always wondered if my two REALLY are littermates or not, because they really don't look alike - and personality wise, they almost act like different BREEDS. He's bulky and acts like a guard dog - mostly obedient and as he's gotten bigger, more and more territorial. *She* is full of mischief, which was cute as a puppy, but may turn into a discipline problem sooner or later. The other day she fell into our pool cover - we haven't opened it for the season - and we both scrambled outside panicking. She got herself out - but within a day, she was trying it again. *HE* usually doesn't need to be reminded not to do something - punish him once or twice, and he won't do it even if you try to get him to do it. *She* will break any rule at any time - get into the trash, climb up on furniture and so on. So different.

And physically different. I realize there'll be SOME difference because of the gender - but she's sleek and runs very very fast - I'm amazed that she can zig-zag so quickly. Him? He pretty much has no speed at all. On the other hand, he just keeps bulking, muscle-wise. He's like a tiny little bear.

Do you know much else about these guys?

Wonder were she gets THAT from.

Dammit - I'm never gonna live that one down, am I?

I still think it's funny that to this day, my wife says my *reaction* was one of the pivotal moments in our early relationship, because my natural reaction was to laugh and shrug it off - it wasn't forced.

We hope to have the pool cover off this evening, and hopefully if we don't go broke, by next year, we'll have a more secure cover to prevent any more accidents.

I believe there were five puppies in the box.

And it's very possible they had different Daddy's.
