OK.... Time to Panic!!!

Average egg prices jumped 49.1% in November compared with those a year earlier — the largest annual percentage increase among all grocery items in that period, according to the consumer price index, a barometer of inflation.

By comparison, the overarching “food at home” category was up 12%.
The increase is even more acute when measured by the cost of a dozen large, Grade A eggs, which more than doubled to $3.59 in November from $1.72 the year-earlier month, according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Butter is up 34.2%

My wife belongs to a couple of organizations and Church and as a native in the county we know many people. All of these organization want baked goods for their fund raisers, and I seem to be going to a funeral almost every week. Baking is getting expensive, and then I sometimes have a couple of eggs for breakfast, we don't use an unusual amount of eggs but we use enough to see the rising cost, but the cost of everything is rising. Everything but my fixed income. I am feeling the pinch. I don't know about the rest of you, but my cushion has just about gone bye bye.

Rising egg prices is an expected result of a wave of Bird flu where they slaughter entire flocks. Thanks for the link as I had remembered hearing about it when it happened and then thought, "well, there go eggs, through the roof". Chicken will be expensive as well I would think, and we have noticed that as well. Thanks to the pandemic and associated shortages, we are now getting just a small taste of what my grandparents went through with World War 2. And I emphasize that "just a small taste". Here's hoping things don't continue to get worse.

Haven't seen many sales on butter which is unusual this time of year for baking, Hasn't been less than $5 a lb. Eggs are crazy prices. Over $6. for a carton of 18.

For your consideration ...

Ya know something? That's what they say. Has anyone seen an actual culling of these supposedly bird flu infected chickens? They are talking about over 57 million infected chickens, turkeys and ducks. 57 million in one year. That's one humongous pile of culled carcasses. Where are the pictures and videos of these events? Over 300 million smartphones with cameras in this Nation, as well as camera drones, and not one picture or video? To me, this is all BS propaganda. Without proof, these events did not happen. On would think that the government would want visual proof, prima facie evidence, reported and broadcast on all news channels that these birds were in fact culled to assuage any concerns the public might have, right? But not one story of these culled fowl have provided picture or videos. Therefore, propaganda.

Had to turn off Face the Nation before I puked.
What a load of horse manure on how the new congressional funding bill is going to help the economy
"Green New Deal". That's part of the issue, idiots or more driven by their misguided ideology than science and economics.
The Fed raising interest rates and over the top government give away of money isn't seen as a cause, but rather a cure.
We need immigration to solve the labor shortage, in the mean time we have perfectly healthy citizens sitting around wanting college loan relief and rent subsidy, free healthcare. It's no secret people have opted out of the work force for free money
We have the IRS that got funded for what, 100,000 new auditors, and they wanted to hire off shore to fill the jobs.

I don't understand it. It seems people have accepted high prices as normal now. This deal increases energy prices, but will people realize their bill increases or once again don't care. It does seem when news of cost increases come out, the media & democrats want to bring up 1/6.

People seem to believe the poop they are fed that spending tons of money for nothing is good for the economy, that handing people money to spend had no impact on inflation (PS, I didn't get any of those checks, or did I get any loan forgiveness or rent control)
Simply having the FED up the interest rate is magically going to cure inflation
Hello, store shelfs are empty, that's why we have inflation, government over regulation.
Paying people to stay home and giving them money to spend.
