Restless, if you have a 12v outlet in your car, you can buy a Bluetooth compatible device (they range in price greatly, $30-100) that will broadcast on the FM band..then you can tune your car radio and stream whatever you want from the device you connect to the Bluetooth FM transmitter. I use a ~$40 unit, the GOgroove Flexsmart x2, to meet the 'hands-free' requirement for my phone. Most of these units allow you to connect any audio device via 3.5mm cable, Bluetooth, USB charging, etc. - FYI, they also have rechargeable battery powered units too, some sit in the visor, etc. but they are really designed for talking.
Then you won't be stuck listening to the awful 97.7. I personally usually listen to 102.9, until Frank goes too far back with the music selection and gets twangy. However, this weekend out in the Virginia mountains, I played downloaded music from my phone through the GOgroove to the car stereo and it worked great.
