I guess so. Ugh.. this is just soo SICK!
your right. And whats really bad is our laws let the abusers get away with it. Again, child abusers need harsher punishments. NO EXCUSES !!!!!

Not sure on the disorder you're talking about; however it does seem the U.S. Court system does turn a blind eye in these matters. They rarely seem to receive a major sentence, as in a penitentiary. They get out in a few years, for committing a crime that can injure a child's mental condition for a very long time.

Is a firing squad that scary? Not in my way of thinking; send the message.

Forget that, stone the heiffer. I've read several posts about people wondering how someone like that monster could have adopted kids and questioning the regulations involved in screening adopters. We don't know the whole story...For all we know they could have been her crackheaded sister's kids or something. There are so many damn kids out there who noone wants, especially in the DC and Baltimore areas, that I doubt there are willing people out there to adopt them and get them out of the foster system.

Again, I'm not familiar with this disorder; what are the signs?
When you beat a dog long enough it tends to act a certain way.

It acts this way even if its brought into a loving home.

How do you think it acts?

I saw on the news the she-whacko was getting $2400 a month for the kids from the guvament -- i.e., $800 each / month.

I read that too. If that's the case the guvament shoulda been checking on the kids.

From what I heard she received the money until the adoption was finalized and then did not get anymore money.

I agree that she needed to be monitored for a certain amount of time but do you think that the government should be checking on people who adopt children for the rest of their lives? If you expect people to adopt and treat them as their own children how can you justify the government checking on them forever? The government doesn't come into your home to check on you and your own biological children and most people would be against that. If they did I wonder how many people would not adopt. I know many wonderful families that have adopted. Don't let one wacky women be the poster women for all adopted families. It just scares me when people start wanting the government to be in our lives more and more. I am in no way justify anything this women did so don't take this the wrong way. Just me thinking out loud.

I haven't read all of the posts from all of the threads but want to ask? WTF about the father???

This is a cut from CNN
Garrett, 21, who lives two houses down from Bowman, said he brought the girl to a neighbor's house, called 911 and ordered her a pizza. She indicated she had last eaten on Tuesday when her father was at the home, said Garrett, who realized he had met her mother once and described her as "frazzled."

Didn't he think " where are my other kids" ??? Am I missing something here?

Good point. If he did know about it, he's just as bad as the "mother".

How wouldn't he have known? From the sound of the shape the kid was in it had to be evident something was going on. And by the way... We are talking two kids in the freezer. He had to have realized they were missing.

I agree with you 100%. I should have worded it differently. But he needs to be held responsible also.

I don't receive any monies from the government. I thought the funding stopped once the adoption was finalized but one of the reports made it seem as if she was still receiving benefits. If she was getting money, as well as those on welfare, I think there should be some checks and balances. Same should apply to foster parents. And yes, I'm sure there are an enormous amount of cases.

I'm all for people adopting and hopefully I'd be able to do so in the future:yay:

Not really surprised to read this.

I've made a report of suspected neglect against this lady that lived in my apartment complex years ago. She had two babies but never fed them because she was too busy going out to the clubs and chasing after men. Instead of buying formula, she'd feed the infant coolaid in her bottle. The baby had diaper rash so bad she'd have bloody spots in her diaper. Social Services sets up an appointment to come over and meet with her. Ridiculous! Of course the house is going to be clean and the kids are going to be well dressed and presentable if you set up an appointment to investigate....

I do realize there are privacy issues; especially when spiteful people may make fake claims. But think about all the kids out there who are suffering in silence because the parent's/guardian's rights are protected.

The nasty thing is that the social worker noticed a "smell" that she thought was mildew.
