Well I honestly would feel better eating a former happy chicken than a caged one.
I would feel extremely guilty eating a happy chicken. Here she is, pecking along in her happy little chicken land, laying eggies and flirting with the resident rooster. Then *whack* - see ya, birdie.

At least when they're being treated like crap, I feel like I'm ending their misery. Sort of like a mercy killing. With Buffalo sauce.

I think you're cruel, wanting to kill happy chickens.

We have come a ways from the original issue that this thread brought up to us for our discussion.

The Rev. Al is boycotting KFC(doesn't one of our forum members have that as a user name?); but he didn't say he's going to quit eating chicken altogether.

I wonder if he cares if he's chowing down on a happy chicken or an irate one?

The Rev. Al is just crowing to the media, for some attention.

That's the funniest damn thing I've read in a long time! :lmao:

Sharpton isn't looking for media attention, he's following the THE REV. JACKSON play book of black mail. Find an at-risk corporation, threaten a boycott, and call off the boycott after they pay you a lot of money and promise to make some tokien donation to the Black community or give high-paid "jobs" to your family and friends.

Except for as little credibility as Jackson has, Sharpton has even less.

Just because we all won't become vegetarians doesn't mean we shouldn't treat the animals humanely.

I started another thread on this but deleted it after I saw yours.

I refuse to eat at any restaurant that caves in to PETA's demands. It just sets a bad precedent for other businesses that are being extorted by wacko extremist groups.

Be honest, folks: does anyone really care about chickens and cows? Really? Would you honestly be more likely to eat at McDonalds or KFC if you thought they were only buying from farmers who treat their meat more humanely before they killed it?

Penn & Teller did a show on PETA for their series B*llsh*t on Showtime. Rather informative actually.
