Open House

What a complete MESS! Nothing was organized, it was far too overcrowded, the teachers (not all, but most) couldn't offer assistance and didn't even have their material together. Parents were rude and kept pushing their way through and stumbling on people.

Anyone else experience problems w/their child(rens) open house?

I was irritated that NONE of Boy 1's teachers were there. They could of at least taped syllabi and supply lists on the doors. Guess I'll be getting his supplies after school tomorrow. :ohwell:

The other two don't start this week so their open house is Thursday.

My son's Open House is at 9:30 tomorrow. I got a notice in the mail saying that it was today at 10. I got a call yesterday telling me that it was changed for Pre-K. I was looking forward to see him get on the bus on his first day of school. :ohwell:

Don't deny yourself that experience. Do whatever schedule shifting you have to in order to watch him get on that bus the first time. And take tissues, plenty of tissues, for when you watch your that big yellow bus roll away with your baby on it. You'll never forget that day.

Oh I will get to see him on and off the bus every day. I live .8 miles from work. I just really wanted him to get on the bus the first day. Oh well, I'll be there to take pics as he walks into school and gets on the bus the next day. :bawl:

:howdy:

It was a pretty daunting experience for a kid who is just starting middle school. I wish they'd have split up open house based upon grade. WAY too many people there to be of much value.

We went to all 3 of my kids today and it was great. The kids were THRILLED that all their teachers have Smart Boards.

My SIL said it was like that at my nephews school today and they only had 1 hour.

Yes, it was a completely mess and overcrowded. However, the teachers and staff were very friendly. Also, I learned a neighbor next door have a son same age my son and will be in same class together. I never knew there is a little boy of my son's age right next door. :faint:

No bus tomorrow. I will have to take my son to school and meet with the teacher to get more bus information for pre-k PM session. On Second day of school is the one that I will have to deal with bus and a box of tissues to use to wipe my tears away.
