Welcome to the board. :howdy:

Never been to that location. But, it's Bob Evans not Benihana's. Go, dine, enjoy. :flowers:

Hello all! :howdy:

My husband and I recently moved to Calvert County from southern North Carolina. We've been looking for some good restaurants to visit in the Prince Frederick area, but have yet to find the time to actually go visit some. However, in our old town, our favorite restaurant was a "Bob Evans." I noticed that there is one in Prince Frederick, but we were wondering what others opinions of this one are before we actually go. Could anyone shed some light for us?

Thanks so much!
Debbie

We enjoy it, good food and great service.

We like:

Outback - occasional spotty service but otherwise good
Mexico - always quick service and we haven't had a bad meal yet
Jaspers - still working the kinks out but both times I've been, the food was great.
Adams - always consistant, has some detractors here but I've always liked it
Veras - Food and service been great this summer, they've come a long way from last summer.

I don't care much for Bob Evans no matter the location. However, I've recently had their french toast and pancakes with strawberries. Yummy!

Second vote for Mexico. Outstanding service and even better food.

I like Mexico too, but my husband does not. Therefore I doubt I'll be going there anytime soon. :bawl:

I keep trying to tell him that Taco Bell is not true Mexican food!

I love Bob Evans. I haven't been to the one in PF for a few years, though. P.S. I would've stayed in NC! :yay:

Ask around for the "Frying Pan". I am not unsure if it is still open or not as I have not been there in a few years. They used to have great food. A little prcier than Bob Evans but great if it's just you and the husband going out for a nice meal, it might be worth looking into. If memory serves it is in the Lusby Area. I have been a few times and had great food each time. Kind of a nice Joint. Not classy but nicer than the franchised out resturants.

Never did Breakfast. I just remember the Blackend Steak. I think it was one of the better steaks I have ever had in SOMD

I think the one time I ate there I had a seafood platter. Frying Pan is excellent on quality, a little above the normal price, but I'd rather pay the extra few bucks to a mom/pop joint.

Welcome! :howdy: Hope your skin is thick...you'll need it!

Bob Evans is good - been there a few times. Country fried steak with mashed potatoes

We've been to Mexico - again, great food! Also went to Old Field Inn - don't even waste your time. Hands down, the absolute worst filet mignon I've ever had - I didn't realize filet mignon had grisel...that's how bad it was.

The chain restaurants - Ruby Tuesday's, Applebees - are what you would expect them to be. Also been to Red, Hot & Blue - never go back. The ribs were the worst! We went to Adam's and had the best yet for a local place.

Been to Stoney's - very overpriced and overrated. I cringed when I saw the price for the seafood platter - $31! Believe me, it wasn't all that. If you want a decent (not great) variety/quality of chinese food, try the buffet over by Food Lion. They also have mongolian barbeque - even got hubby to try that and he liked it and he is very persnickety with food. Been to Skores (if you want to call it a restaurant) actually when it was "Big Daddy's." I don't know if they are serving the same menu or not. We weren't thrilled the last time we were there.

The best chinese carryout we have now discovered (thanks to this board) is China Garden in Solomons. Unbelievable shrimp fried rice, shrimp rolls and steamed vegetables.

Haven't tried Jaspers yet (although we've eaten at the one in Crofton so I'm assuming it's the same) or Outback (been to one Outback, been to them all).

Hope this is helpful!

I've been to the RH&B in PF and in Waldork. Both were great. Ribs were great. Service and atmosphere were great. Their sauces kick ass.

What buffet by WHAT Food Lion? I haven't been to Bob Evans in awhile but they were 'respectable' when we did go. As far as the ''chinese carry out", is China Garden the place next to Papa John's in the shopping center w/Food Lion, C.V.S.,Boater's World or do you mean 'China Harbour'? Which, by the way, is the best Chinese Restaurant around as far as I'm concerned. And, last but not least , yes, The Frying Pan in Lusby is a good place to go.
