We've been to Mexico - again, great food! Also went to Old Field Inn - don't even waste your time. Hands down, the absolute worst filet mignon I've ever had - I didn't realize filet mignon had grisel...that's how bad it was.

I'm really surprised to hear that. You must have been there on a bad night or they've changed a lot in the past month or so. I'll admit I've never had the steak because I don't eat meat besides seafood but I've never had a bad meal there. The salmon in puff pastry is fabulous, the Old Field Salad is amazing and they are one of the few places I know of to get escargot. The atmosphere is lovely, the owner/chef is sweet and accommodating when it comes to special meal requests and the wine dinners are more than worth the price. It's definitely worth it for a nice night out.

Bob Evans is good - Country fried steak with mashed potatoes

We've been to Mexico - again, great food!

Old Field Inn - don't even waste your time. Have been there twice in the past 8 years and both trips I walked away disgruntled about the food and the prices.

Red, Hot & Blue - never go back.

Adam's- Best ribs in the area.

Been to Stoney's - very overpriced and overrated. Will not be going back.

China Harbor - Outstanding!!

Still don't get the Old Field criticism, there aren't a lot of places around here that you can get true gourmet food around here at decent prices. Personally for good seafood with a creative sauce, interesting sides and a complete wine list (a real rarity around here) I don't have trouble spending ~$30/entree but I do prefer to eat in Annapolis or DC rather than SoMD so maybe my idea of fair prices is a little higher.

I actually replied to this price to add on that I agree about Stoney's. I've gotten food poisoning TWICE in recent memory from fried oysters there :barf: maybe I'm just unlucky but I don't plan on going back anytime soon.

Also, I forgot to reply about Bob Evan's. I'm pretty sure it's generally disgusting and the pure idea of country fried steak turns my stomach. Plus the few times I've been to a Bob Evan's (admittedly not the one around here) there have been screaming children, loud people and sticky tables, NOT my idea of some place I want to eat EVER. There's a lot to be said for quiet dining with experienced people (i.e. not local teenagers) that know something about fine dining and wine on the wait staff.
