I watched it and loved it. They are doing a 2nd season, right?

Yes, but it won't come out till 2014. It was so addicting, I'm so bummed out that we have to wait that long. I'd bet this time they don't release all the episodes at once....

I was contemplating checking out Breaking Bad, only b/c it was on my Netflix as "something you might like". Is it as good as OITNB?

I think we're about to check out Breaking Bad, too. It has such a cult following and we're so bad about "watching one more" until we've stayed up way too late or abandoned whatever else we should've been doing that we're a little worried about starting it.

After OITNB, we watched House of Cards with Keven Spacey because there's only the one season. It's pretty entertaining, too, but you really have to pay attention as the plot thickens. There are lots of unexpected twists and turns.

Do watch. BB is a great show. And for folks who have not see Game of Thrones, well worth watching also. Properly brutal as any show with a feudal setup should be.

I have been watching BB, I'm on season 2 episode 9 so far. I like it, it's my "go to", but I do have to admit, if given the choice I'd watch OITNB over BB.

I thought OINB was pretty good. Comparing it to the other Netflix originals, it wasn't as good as House of Cards but it was better than Hemlock Grove and probably Lilyhammer.

As somdfunguy suggests, I doubt they will. This has been their model for releasing their original productions - they put out an entire season at once. And they seem pretty happy with how that model works, they refer to what many viewers do (i.e. watching all of the episodes in a short time period - back-to-back over the course of a couple days or a week) as binge viewing. I forget the exact numbers, but they had found that only a very small percentage of people had signed up for a free trial to watch House of Cards (which is probably their biggest original success so far) and then canceled after the free trial was over. So they aren't too worried about that general scenario.

I think they'll keep releasing full seasons at once and just be sure to stagger the various shows so that, at any given time, there's one that just recently came out or one that's soon to come out. That will be easier to do as they add more original shows.

I had a dream last night in which I ran into one of the OITNB cast members in a coffee shop or something and we sat and talked about the show for a while. I suppose that in itself wasn't too weird. But jeebus, why in the world was it the lady that plays Big Boo rather than, say, the lady that plays Piper?
