Any rec's for one in the Lexington Park/Hollywood/Leonardtown area?

Dr. Mark Henderson...but he's in the same office as Dr. Cox. It really depends on what your ortho condition is...as to who I personally would suggest. Cox is great for Hips, and Backs. Henderson is great with extremities. However, they have someone in their group (Southern MD Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center) for anything that ails you. I would ONLY go to this group in St. Mary's County...I don't think others in this area are worth mentioning JMO. I hope you get treatment and things improve soon. :huggy: Just be prepared to WAIT to see them as specialists run by a different clock and time zone! :lmao:

I see Dr. Herron at Calvert Memorial -- He is a really great doctor. 410-414-9840....and they always get me in to see him the same day....
And you have to admit, too, that Dr. Herron is a hottie. :yum: Heck, I'd make an appointment to see him even if I didn't have anything wrong with me. Double :yum: :yum:

Try Herron, he is really good. The only thing I don't like is that sometime I have to wait a long while in his 'waiting' room - but he is smart, and decisive. Cox dithered around with my bad hand/wrist and misdiagnosed. Herron has me almost fixed!

I couldn't walk last year with my back and had to wait 2 weeks just to get a MRI so I could see the doctor.

Maybe your Primary will speed things along if you need to be seen faster:yay:

HOT...yes great doctor :nono: My Mom had a not so great experience...two surgeries, lots of PT, and months later she was finally referred to a Doc at John's Hopkins to "fix" what he didn't. Again...JMO.

Agreed...often your PCP can get you in faster if they talk to the specialist directly and explain the problem.

In all seriousness, I've had no luck with the orthopedic professionals as of yet. I have a f/u with Dr. Rozran that took two months to get after I had to reschedule. I wanted to see Dr. Cox but he doesn't accept my insurance.

Good Luck...

I have dealth with Cox,Henderson and Rozran. None of them took the steps to find out why I hurt all the time.Lower back, leg pain. I finally went to Dr.Yousaf through the bean building and that man has told me more than any of them. First was xrays, then he had a bone scan done to check for other things that could cause the pain (tumors etc) that was good..Next was a doppler on my lower legs to check for circulation problems like blood clots. Xray lost that one, Now I go for a MRI. I went to him through a friend's recomendation and so far I'm impressed with him. Here's a link that was on his card.

Southern Maryland Orthopedics should be your choice

Dr. Cox, Dr. Bauk and Dr. Travis are ALL excellent Doctors in this practice. I have never dealt with Dr. Henderson but know him to be a nice person.

Depending on what ails you, see one of the above. I have known Cox for 35 years, Bauk and Travis for about 10 or 15.

Yes, you do have to wait because they are in high demand. If ou have something broken, get your PCD to get you in sooner. If nothing is broken, just hurting, wait your turn. They have thousands of patients they deal with and they take on all the trauma cases in the ER also, which sometimes bumps them ahead of others.

See if you can get in to see any of the 3, Cox, Bauk or Travis.

I went to Henderson and wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. A friend of mine is also leaving his practice. Cox may have been good, but I have heard he is not practicing any more. May be wrong about that, but I know he was not for a while.

I highly recommend Dr. Bruce Beck in Solomons. After my poor experience with Henderson, I asked at work and almost everywhere I went, who they would recommend as an orthopedic doctor. Four people from different places recommended Dr. Beck. I went and would go back if I had a problem needing an orthopedic doctor.

Dr. Herron's credentials are impeccable, you don't have to wait months to get in to see him, he is the sports doc for St. Mary's College and he is a HOTTIE!!
Not a thing wrong with that.....
