 Yes it would but you need a fitted sheet. Don't you? I'd think it would just slide around all over the place if you used two flat sheets.

Two flat sheets would work if the bottom one was a size bigger than the actual bed, I believe.

Now I'm gonna have to try to correctly fold all my fitted sheets when I go home. It will bug me until I do it correctly. :lmao:

:lmao: You can come over to my house and practice if you like. :lmao: I would try to just follow Mig's advice but it seemed too complex. I think I'll stick with just flopping it over.

Mig's seems easier than the original ones I posted.

just buy one set of sheets for each bed. You take them off, you wash them, you put them back on. No need to fold, takes up less space in linen closet as well.

If you want the bottom sheet to be really tight go with a flat sheet. And I don't see the problem with storage. One bed=one set of sheets.

Not on our bed! :jet:

I once pet-sat for a woman that had a few cats...I went in her linen closet to get a towel, and her sheets were folded absolutely perfectly. I was amazed. Her fittet and flat sheets looked identical!! I am no where near that patient.

The first time I folded mine they looked great (though I didn't use the suggested method). Ever since then, I've never been able to get them anywhere near appearing folded.

BS Gal, Mig, I'll have to try that tonight when I start going through the laundry and re-doing the linen closet that she left a wreck. Thanks.

Go buy a brand new set of sheets - pay careful attention when you take them out of the packaging and unwrap the cardboard. That's how you fold a sheet neatly... :coffee:

I think it was my dad (ex-Navy) that taught me that the world will not stop spinning if your sheets aren't folded correctly. :lmao:

My dad was weird sometimes....when we cleaned our rooms, he put on a white glove and did an inspection....If we didn't pass(including the quarter flipping on the bed thing) all he!! broke loose

Folding Fitted Sheets

What is the best way to fold a fitted sheet?

Julie Gootee, Nashville, IN

Folding a fitted sheet can be a frustrating task. Those elasticized corners, though convenient for keeping a sheet firmly in place on the bed, can become a jumbled mass when improperly folded. Fortunately, there is a relatively easy technique for folding these tricky linens neatly—it just takes patience, and a bit of practice.

Technique
Folding a Fitted Sheet

1. Start with your sheet inside out. While standing, hold the sheet in front of you, and place one hand in each of two adjacent corners.

2. Bring your right hand to your left, and fold the corner in your right hand over the one in your left hand, so that the corner on top is right-side out.

3. Keeping your left hand in place, reach down to the remaining two corners with your free hand, and tuck these corners into each other. Fold these corners over the first two. Your sheet should now be folded in quarters, with all four corners tucked inside one another.

4. Lay the sheet on a flat surface with the puckered end folded in over the flat part of the sheet. Touch up with an iron, if necessary, at this point. Fold two edges in, so all the elastic is hidden.

5. Fold the strip you have created into a rectangle, then continue folding until the rectangle is the size you want it to be.

TFF I just learned this last weekend when i was moving! This chic that was helping me move folded the sheet for me and i was in total awe.

Tater, next time you're up this way, stop in and I'll show you how to fold a fitted sheet. It's easy. In fact, it's easier than saying:

I fit a sheet
A sheet I fit
Upon a fitted sheet I sit

three times fast.
