A few thoughts from the articles...

The car burst into flames after hitting and destroying the unmanned toll booth...

I can't imagine being a toll worker in a booth with a car speeding towards me like that.

Officials with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, which operates the parkway, said they believe State Police are investigating whether the crash was the result of a medical condition.

This would make sense, as to why the driver was continuing at such a high rate of speed; if he was not being chased or anything, there was no reason for him to not slow down. If he was falling asleep or having a seizure or whatever then it makes sense.

“All indications is that he just missed,” Chiapelli said of the driver.

That, however, doesn't really make sense. Every E-Z Pass owner knows they have to slow down for the machine to register their passing. Of course, idiots do crazy stuff every day...

What trips me out is the people in the fast past lane (or what ever it's called), they don't stop or slow down or nothing, just keep on going. Got to love NJ drivers.....

it was said somewhere that NJ has the cheapest gas.....there were probably rushing to get to the nearest pump before prices go up
